  • Publication number: 20220063353
Abstract: A tire (1) has improved handling and comprises a stiffening structure (7) comprising two stiffening elements (8), each extending continuously in the toroidal interior cavity (6) from a crown interface (81) connected to a radially inner face of the crown (23) to a bead interface (82) connected to an axially inner face of the bead (41). The stiffening structure (7) is distributed circumferentially around the entire circumference of the tire. The crown interface (81) is positioned, with respect to the equatorial plane (XZ), at an axial distance A at most equal to 0.45 times the axial width S and the bead interface (82) is positioned, with respect to a radially innermost point (I) of the axially inner face of the bead (41), at a radial distance B at least equal to 0.10 times the radial height H and at most equal to 0.5 times the radial height H.

  • Patent number: 8892298
Abstract: A method for detecting a wear condition of a tire utilizes tread pattern elements included on the tire. The elements are adapted to generate first and second acoustic footprint noises (BEA1, BEA2), with one of the first and second acoustic footprint noises being characteristic of the wear condition of the tire. According to the method, a parent frequency spectrum, which is capable of forming a frequency spectrum of one of the first and second acoustic footprint noises, and a child frequency spectrum, which is capable of forming a frequency spectrum of the other of the first and second acoustic footprint noises, are selected from a frequency spectrum of an acoustic signal acquired from the tire. Two detection confidence indices are determined. If each detection confidence index meets a predetermined condition, a warning is emitted indicating that tire wear has been detected.

  • Patent number: 6854720
Abstract: The invention concerns a shock strut for a MacPherson wheel suspension comprising a shock absorber with a body (21) and a rod (22). A coil spring (24) is mounted on a lower spring retainer (23) integral with the shock absorber body (21). The first turn of the spring (24) of the MacPherson strut can be immobilized on and relative to the lower spring retainer (23) in various predetermined positions on the lower spring retainer (23).

  • Patent number: 6470554
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a device for mounting a MacPherson strut suspension radius rod, comprising steps which consist in: inserting the elements forming the control rod beneath a mounting head having at least a tilting degree of liberty; bringing the control rod top end alongside a portion of the mounting head; compressing the spring by the relative movement of the mounting head with respect a locking member engaged in its prestressed spring, when the mounting head portion comes to a stop and when the shock-absorber rod moves beyond the upper spring retainer.

  • Patent number: 6082720
Abstract: The strut comprises a ball bearing (42) located below the lower retainer ) of the spring (4). The ball bearing (42) is centered on an eccentric collar (27) in order to shift the center of the ball bearing (42) by a distance e from the axis of the shock absorber. Rotation between the body (2) of the shock absorber and the hub holder (5) displaces the center of the ball bearing (42), which shifts the lower retainer (41) accordingly. Using a suitable measuring bench, the strut is adjusted precisely upon the assembling thereof.
