  • Patent number: 5497730
Abstract: A feeding device for poultry has a dish-shaped pan, above which a feed drop tube is centrally arranged. The upper end of the feed drop tube can be brought in open connection with a feed supply tube of a feed supply system. Between the feed drop tube and the pan a plurality of support arms is present which are connected to a rim of the pan by means of a snap connection with two transverse arms extending along the rim of the pan and having hook lugs and a supporting lip. The feeding device is connected to the feed supply tube by two yoke parts which, together, enclose the feed supply tube, the first yoke part having two yoke arms with hook parts directed towards each other for enclosing the second yoke part.

  • Patent number: 5113797
Abstract: A poultry feeding device comprises an essentially dish-shaped pan, the bottom of which is provided with an upright part. A drop tube for the supply of feed can be moved over a limited, variable distance relative to the bottom of the pan to form a first feed supply opening of variable size. The drop tube has one or more second feed supply openings. In the bottom position of the drop tube the first feed supply opening is closed and the second feed supply opening(s) are opened, and in the top position of the drop tube this is reversed. The upright part of the bottom of the pan extends in the drop tube, and in the bottom position of the drop tube the top side of the upright part reaches to the second feed supply opening(s) and at that point shuts off the drop tube.

  • Patent number: 4598496
Abstract: Disclosed here is a lid moving mechanism for use with a storage bin. A hinge arm is pivoted at one end to a fixed point on the bin top, and a free end is attached, by a boom, to the lid. A jack device rotates the hinge arm and lid between opened and closed positions. The jack takes the form of a tube, within which is fixed an open-center helical spindle. A turning tube is inserted into this spindle, and a pin engages the spindle windings. When the turning tube is rotated, it is drawn into or forced out of the helical spindle and jack tube, and the hinge arm is correspondingly moved. An extension is attached to the turning tube so that the jack can be operated, and the lid moved, from a remote location.

  • Patent number: 4200060
Abstract: A feeder for livestock and the like is disclosed. The feeder has a feed receiver body for receiving and storing a flow of feed from a conveyor. A drop tube means extends from the feed conveyor into the feed receiver body, and includes at least one wall mounted for vertical motion relative to a fixed wall. When the moveable wall is in a raised position, that moveable wall and the fixed wall define a vertically oriented opening through which feed can pass from the drop tube into the receiver body. By adjusting the position of the moveable wall, the amount of feed collected in the receiver can be correspondingly changed. When a stopper valve member is drawn away from a discharge opening, the feed pile collected in the receiver body is discharged from the receiver for livestock consumption. A stopper actuator includes a flexible member connected to the stopper valve, and a rotatable windup device connected to the flexible member.
