  • Patent number: 6643574
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling the data transmission between two modules which are present in a motor vehicle and are connected to one another via a communications interface and a communications bus. The transmitting module defines the data to be transmitted in the form of code words in dependence on sensor signals generated by a first sensor and a second, redundant sensor, the sensor signal of one of the two sensors being applied directly to the communications interface of the module and serving for checking and/or changing part of the code word applied to the communications interface for the purpose of transmission.

  • Patent number: 6597053
Abstract: An integrated circuit arrangement having a number of structural elements, at least one of which is surrounded by a metallic shielding structure. This structural element is thus protected against interference due to disturbing impulses from its environment. In particular, the structural elements of the circuit arrangement can be arranged next to or on top of one another. To produce the metallic shielding structure of a structural element of the circuit arrangement, at least one depression which surrounds the structural element is created and then lined with metal. The contacts and electrical connections of the structural element are electrically insulated from the metal of the shielding structure.

  • Patent number: 6081044
Abstract: In a method for tripping a restraint device in a vehicle, coded information signals with status and diagnosis messages are transmitted in both directions between an evaluation device and an ignition device. To avoid the situation where a tripping signal for the restraint device may be delayed in its transmission to the ignition device because the data throughput in the transmission medium is high, the transmission of the information signals is interrupted. Accordingly, the transmission of the information signals in the forward and return directions is controlled by the evaluation device. As a function of a collision signal furnished by a sensor device, the transmission of the information signals is ended by the evaluation device, so that the transmission medium between the evaluation device and the ignition device remains free for a possibly ensuing tripping signal.

  • Patent number: 6052635
Abstract: The system for triggering a restraining device in a motor vehicle includes an ignition device with a logic circuit connected to an evaluation device a via a line. A d.c. signal for operating the ignition device is input into the line. An alternating signal containing a message is additively superimposed on the d.c. signal and is transmitted from the evaluation device to the ignition device.

  • Patent number: 6036224
Abstract: An impact sensor configuration in a motor vehicle includes a sensor device in each vehicle half (relative to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle) for detecting an acceleration. Each sensor device has two acceleration sensors with differently directed sensitivity axes.
