  • Patent number: 11505140
Abstract: A method for controlling two serially disposed relays that switch a load with two different safety levels depending on the driving situation in a vehicle includes querying state information that includes movement state information and/or coasting operation information of the vehicle, determining a safety level of the two different safety levels depending on the driving situation, using the state information, detecting a relay of the two serially disposed relays using a balancing rule when the safety level determined in step b) represents a lower safety level of the two safety levels, switching the selected relay into a non-conductive state and keeping the further relay in a conductive state when a first request signal for switching off the load is received, and switching the selected relay into a conductive state when a second request signal for switching on the load is received.

  • Patent number: 10391886
Abstract: A power supply system for safety-relevant systems in a motor vehicle is provided that includes a first supply path and a second supply path. The first supply path includes a first connection point for a first voltage source, one or more first supply points for a safety-relevant load, and a first fuse between the first connection point and the first supply point. The second supply path is electrically coupled to the first supply path and includes a second connection point for a second voltage source, one or more second supply points for the safety-relevant load, and an electronic second fuse coupled between the second connection point and the second supply point. The safety-relevant load is capable of being electrically coupled to both the first and second supply point. Disconnecting elements are provided to isolate a fault in conformity with ASIL B.

  • Patent number: 10272856
Abstract: The power distributor for vehicles according to the present disclosure includes at least the following components: an electronic attachment and a central distributor module with a printed circuit board for electrical components, a feed-in busbar to connect the printed circuit board to a feed-in terminal, and a cable directly connected to the power distributor. The electronic attachment accommodates the ESD-sensitive electronic components and serves to switch and where applicable to diagnose the electrical components on the printed circuit board and can be connected to the printed circuit board by a plug-in contact with several terminals. According to the present disclosure, the advantages of the printed circuit board for unbundling the signals to the various electrical components are combined with the advantages of a separate electronic attachment.

  • Patent number: 10153632
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a device and method for protecting an electrical system component of a vehicle electrical system. The device comprises a semiconductor switch connected to the electrical system component. A circuit connected to the semiconductor switch comprises a detection unit for detecting an electrical malfunction of the vehicle electrical system and an activation unit for activating the semiconductor switch. A control unit communicatively connected to the circuit is configured to switch the semiconductor switch into a first safe state, in which the semiconductor switch is switched off, based on the detection of an electrical malfunction, and to selectively switch the semiconductor switch into the first safe state or into a second safe state, in which the semiconductor switch is switched on, based on at least one predetermined vehicle state.
