  • Patent number: 10467888
Abstract: A method of dynamically adjusting an emergency coordination simulation system includes performing an emergency coordination simulation for a subarea of a geographic region based on expected user behavior in the subarea and environmental variables of the subarea. An emergency notice is transmitted to a plurality of users. A plurality of citizen sensor reports is received from the users via citizen sensor monitoring devices. The devices communicate with a backend system and form a citizen sensor platform. A consistency check is performed on the plurality of citizen sensor reports. The plurality of citizen sensor reports is filtered to remove outliers. An emergency coordination resimulation is performed for the subarea based on the expected user behavior in the subarea, the environmental variables of the subarea, and the filtered plurality of citizen sensor reports. An updated emergency notice is transmitted to the plurality of users based on the emergency coordination resimulation.

  • Publication number: 20170178013
Abstract: A method of providing augmented reality recommendations, includes notifying a user about an emergency situation, wherein the notification is provided to the user via a mobile device, and activating a software application on the mobile device to provide an augmented reality (AR) visualization of at least one current event, at least one predicted event and at least one action recommendation in relation to the emergency situation.

  • Patent number: 9659502
Abstract: Apparatus, method, computer program product, and system described for an autonomous vehicle (a drone) which uses one or more hosts to transport that drone on its journey. Potential hosts along the envisioned journey can be rated as to their suitability. That rating along with an indication of the value of traveling under its own power or remaining stationary for a particular time can be evaluated at any point along the journey to produce an effective route, time, cost, or whatever other factor is desirable. The drone can chose between these states and communicate with potential hosts and even stationary positions or it can remain in the mode it was just in. The drone can switch between one host and another, be charged by a host or at a stationary location, and can evaluate the different modes differently depending on the needs of the user and the drone itself.

  • Patent number: 9363190
Abstract: Improving the utilization of physical resources and reducing energy consumption in a cloud data center includes providing a plurality of virtual machines in the cloud data center; periodically reallocating resources of the plurality of virtual machines according to a current resource demand of the plurality of virtual machines in order to minimize a number of active physical servers required to handle a workload of the physical servers; maximizing a mean inter-migration time between virtual machine migrations under the quality of service requirement based on a Markov chain model; and using a multisize sliding window workload estimation process for a non-stationary workload to maximize the mean inter-migration time.

  • Publication number: 20150379170
Abstract: In an approach to modelling population movement scenarios, one or more computer processors receive at least one credential of a user. The one or more computer processors determine, based, at least in part, on the received at least one credential, at least one context of a first population movement scenario, wherein the at least one context provides scenario-specific information for the first population movement scenario. The one or more computer processors receive a plurality of parameters associated with the first population movement scenario. The one or more computer processors model, based, at least in part, on the determined at least one context and the received plurality of parameters, the first population movement scenario. The one or more computer processors generate at least one visualization of the first population movement scenario model.

  • Publication number: 20150324871
Abstract: Various embodiments perform a fair ranking of citizen sensor reports. In one embodiment, a plurality of citizen sensor reports is received. Each of the plurality of citizen sensor reports is associated with a reporting target. At least one context event is identified for each of the plurality of citizen sensor reports. An impact factor is calculated for each the identified context events with respect to their citizen sensor reports. A rank is assigned to each of the plurality of citizen sensor reports with respect to each remaining citizen sensor report in the plurality of citizen sensor reports. The rank is determined based on at last a set of information within the citizen sensor report and the impact factor calculated for the citizen sensor report.
