  • Publication number: 20210008044
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to novel therapeutic approaches for the prevention, treatment and/or delaying progression of chronic injury, progressive loss of functional parenchymal cells, or fibrosis of an organ. Specifically disclosed are agents for use in increasing homodimer-formation of ARNT in an organ in the prevention, treatment and/or delaying progression of chronic injury, progressive loss of functional parenchymal cells, or fibrosis of said organ, as further defined in the claims. In embodiments, said agent may be (i) an inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) activity, (ii) an inhibitor of the transcriptional repressor complex FKBP12/YY1, or (iii) an expression construct, which is capable of over-expressing ARNT in said organ, as well as combinations of (i), (ii), and/or (iii).

  • Patent number: 9573570
Abstract: A drive unit for an aircraft ground wheel associated with a brake unit for braking the ground wheel includes: a driving motor drivingly coupleable to the ground wheel; and a cooling system including at least a drive cooling unit configured to generate a drive cooling air stream for cooling the drive unit and a brake cooling unit configured to generate a brake cooling air stream by sucking in air from the brake unit. A method of controlling such drive unit in which the cooling system is driven by the driving motor of the drive unit includes: decoupling the driving motor from the ground wheel and increasing the rotational speed of the driving motor to increase the amount of generated drive cooling air, when an operating condition of the ground wheel and/or of the drive unit is switched from a propulsion mode to a non-propulsion mode.

  • Publication number: 20140062238
Abstract: A modular electrical machine includes multiple integrated rotor modules releasably mounted upon a power transmission member to form a torus-like structure, wherein each integrated rotor module includes a series of parallel rotor plates spaced apart to provide an air gap between successive rotor plates in the series. The rotor plates hold permanent magnets securely within the air gap. Corresponding stator modules, each made of multiple air-cored coils potted in a resin material to form a blade. Each blade is externally supported with respect to the rotor module and is positioned between the permanent magnets within one of the air gaps between successive rotor plates.

  • Patent number: 7214155
Abstract: An electric drive unit for a motor vehicle comprises an electric motor having a motor housing, a stator mounted in the motor housing and having coil-wound poles, a rotor arranged internally of the stator with an air gap present between the stator and the rotor, and a planetary gear system having a sun wheel, a planet carrier, planet wheels and a ring gear. The planet wheels have a maximum diameter and axial positioning that an imaginary common envelope cylinder for all maximum diameters of the planet wheels is located radially inside of the winding heads present on one axial side of the stator and axially beside the portion of the rotor adjoining the air gap and that the planet wheels project in axial direction outwardly beyond said winding heads either not at all or with less than 50% of their tooth width in engagement with the sun wheel.
