Abstract: A Skidded String photovoltaic (PV) power conversion system includes a skid-based integrated platform that mechanically supports and electrically interconnects: multiple string inverters; at least one medium-voltage (MV) step-up transformer; at least one balance-of-system (BOS) and protection system including multiple overcurrent protection devices (OCPDs), and wherein the outputs of the multiple string inverters are aggregated at a low-voltage level and supplied to the MV transformer so that the skid-based platform operates as a virtual central inverter while maintaining independent inverter-level operation.
