  • Publication number: 20030211247
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the production of paper impregnated with a curable liquid as used in decorative laminated systems. In the present invention, the paper is provided with a curable liquid by foaming the curable liquid and applying the foam to paper to be impregnated, or to an already treated material. Further disclosed is an apparatus for impregnating paper for decorative laminated systems with curable liquids by means of a foam generator, a foam application device for applying curable liquid to the paper, and a dryer for attaining the desired residual moisture content within the applied curable liquid.

  • Patent number: 6423262
Abstract: The invention pertains to a technique for determining the dye uptake or measuring one or more structural parameters or mechanical properties of polymeric fibres. This technique entails measuring the Raman spectrum of the fibres during or after a spinning process. After the Raman spectrum has been treated, a model is applied to it which is derived from the Raman spectra of fibres having the same chemical composition as the fibres to be examined.

  • Patent number: 4509087
Abstract: A magnetic-tape cassette having an electrically conductive cylindrical tape guide which contacts the base side of the magnetic-tape, and has an axial recess accessible from the exterior for grounding the tape. An electrically conductive resilient element is arranged in the cassette, with one portion of the element positioned against the coating side of the magnetic-tape at the location of the guide, and the other side of the element in conductive electrical contact with the tape guide.

  • Patent number: 4483118
Abstract: The invention relates to a support system for buildings having straight, longitudinally and transversely extending girders which are subjected to both compressive and tensional stresses. The girders are releasably connected to one another by connecting members. The girders and the connecting members are each in the form of a single casting made of a ductile metallic material such as gray cast iron with spheroidal graphite, malleable cast iron or cast steel.
