    Abstract: The invention is directed at a method, for use with a mobile device, of handling Internet-based links embedded within physical media. The method includes the steps of scanning a barcode which is embedded within a physical media with the mobile device whereby the barcode includes a Universal Resource Identifier (URI). After scanning the barcode, the barcode is decoded to determine an Internet Protocol (IP) address associated with the URI; and finally, the user is prompted with a set of options for accessing the URI.
