  • Patent number: 5614313
Abstract: A polymeric film comprising a first layer of polymeric material having on at least one surface thereof a second layer of polymeric material comprising, based upon the weight of the polymer in the second layer, (a) 0.05% to 2.0% by weight of silicone resin particles and/or calcined silicone resin particles having a volume distributed median particle diameter of 1.5 to 12.5 .mu.m, and (b) 0.005% to 1.0% by weight of china clay particles having a volume distributed median particle diameter of 0.1 to 2.0 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 5332617
Abstract: A polymeric film, particularly a polyester film, comprising an essentially unfilled primary layer substrate and a filled secondary layer exhibiting an improved combination of transparency and handling properties. The filler is glass particles having a volume distributed median particle diameter of 1.0 to 7.0 .mu.m, which are present in the secondary layer at a concentration of 100 to 1000 ppm. The film is suitable for use in a vide range of applications, particularly for information storage and display.

  • Patent number: 5328755
Abstract: A polymeric film, particularly a polyester film, comprising an essentially unfilled primary layer substrate and a filled secondary layer exhibiting an improved combination of transparency and handling properties. The filler is a mixture of glass and silica particles. The glass particles have a volume distributed median particle diameter of 1.0 to 7.0 .mu.m and are present in the secondary layer at a concentration of 50 to 1000 ppm, while the silica particles are present in the range 200 to 2000 ppm and have an average primary particle size of 0.01 to 0.09 .mu.m. The film is suitable for use in a wide range of applications, particularly for information storage and display.
