  • Patent number: 7384254
Abstract: A coextrusion adapter for an extrusion installation with extruders and a tool for producing a composite coextrusion structure of thermoplastic material. The coextrusion adapter has a central conduit with an end at an inlet side for connecting an extruder and an end at an outlet side for connecting the tool. The coextrusion adapter has at least one coextrusion conduit with an inlet end and an outlet end. A second extruder can be connected to the inlet end. At an end facing the outlet end the adjusting elements have a wedge-shape adjusting section with one wedge surface facing the central conduit and another wedge surface facing the outlet end of the coextrusion conduit. The adjusting section of the adjusting elements is pivotal around an axis extending over the width of the outlet end by the actuating drives. When an increase of the inside diameter of the respective transverse section of the outlet end occurs the corresponding transverse section of the central conduit is narrowed, and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 6612829
Abstract: An extrusion die having a first die element and a second die element, each of which has a die lip, between which an extrusion gap with a slot-shaped outlet opening extends over a width of the extrusion die. At least one die element has an adjusting device by which the die lip can be adjusted in relation to the die lip of the other die element while changing the width of the outlet opening. The adjusting device has an adjusting bar arranged in a receiving groove of the die element and displaceable in the width extension thereof in a displacement device.

  • Publication number: 20020086071
Abstract: An extrusion head for extruding a tube-shaped strand from at least one thermoplastic melt for producing blown films, containing an internal member and an external member, between which an annular space is formed. The external member has at least one extrusion module with two extrusion members, which are arranged on top of each other. A separating gap, which terminates in the annular space, is formed between the extrusion members of each one of the extrusion modules. A channel system for distributing the plastic melt into the annular space is formed in each extrusion module. The channel system includes an inlet area, a branching area and a spiral area, each of which is located on a separate level, wherein the level of the inlet area is arranged between the level of the branching area and the level of the spiral area, and a group of first connecting channels leads from the inlet area into the branching area, and a group of second connecting channels leads from the branching area to the spiral area.

  • Patent number: 5248247
Abstract: In a apparatus of making a nonwoven mat wherein a multiplicity of filaments are extruded in a row and a pair of jets of compressed gas are played symmetrically from nozzles upon the filaments as same are extruded to stretch the filaments and deposit same on a substrate the compressed gas is made to flow from a source along respective paths to the nozzles and each of the flows and paths is branched upstream of respective flow-equalizing stations. The speed of the respective flows is decreased and their pressures are increased with at least one diffuser. The flows are then baffled and united between the flow-equalizing station and the respective nozzles in a flow guide.
