  • Publication number: 20250382402
Abstract: Provided herein are compositions including lipids and copolymers in the form of a nanodisc assembly. The subject copolymers include monomer units of styrene and monomer units selected from acrylic acid and an acrylic acid derivative. In certain cases, the copolymer is a copolymer of styrene and acrylic acid. Also provided herein, is an aqueous solution comprising the subject composition. Also provided herein, are methods for producing a nanodisc assembly, including incubation of a lipid and a subject copolymer. Further provided herein, are methods for solubilizing a membrane protein in an aqueous solution, wherein the method includes forming a nanodisc assembly of a lipid bilayer having one or more membrane proteins embedded therein, and a subject copolymer. Also provided are methods of solubilizing a hydrophobic constituent in an aqueous solution, including forming a nanodisc assembly of a lipid, a hydrophobic constituent, and a subject copolymer.

  • Patent number: 10812003
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described in which a series of short-circuiting pulses is applied to a motor. A current in the motor is determined after one or more of the series of short circuit pulses has completed. The duration of the short-circuit pulses is adjusted depending on the determined current. The method and apparatus may be used within an arrangement for catching a spinning motor.

  • Patent number: 10531319
Abstract: A method (100) is disclosed, the method being performed in a network controller of a Mobile Transport Network. The Mobile Transport Network comprises communication links interconnecting network entities of a cellular Radio Access Network (RAN) and a core network. The method comprises receiving, from a network entity in the core network, an indication of traffic load within the RAN or between the RAN and the core network (102). Also disclosed is a method (200), performed in a network entity of a core network, the core network being connected to a cellular RAN by a Mobile Transport Network. The Mobile Transport Network comprises communication links interconnecting network entities of the core network and the RAN. The method (200) comprises sending to a network controller of the Mobile Transport Network an indication of traffic load within the RAN or between the RAN and the core network (202).

  • Patent number: 10461679
Abstract: A method and apparatus for catching a rotating motor is described. Switches (typically the lower switches) of an inverter of a motor drive circuit are short-circuited for a brief period of time. The pulses generated by this process are analyzed to determine the speed and direction of rotation of the motor. The pulses are checked to determine whether they are orthogonal. If they are, the motor velocity determination is deemed to be reliable and then motor is magnetized and normal motor control can be resumed. If not, the motor velocity determination is deemed to be unreliable and a magnetization pulse before the velocity determination step is repeated.
