  • Publication number: 20160332223
Abstract: A method for producing an impeller of an exhaust gas turbocharger made of TiAl alloy by centrifugal casting, includes providing a TiAl alloy consisting of titanium, 43.7 at-% to 47.5 at-% aluminum, 1.9 at-% to 8.7 at-% niobium, 0.3 at-% to 0.6 at-% carbon, and at most 2.0 at-% others, heating a casting mold used for the centrifugal casting to a casting temperature of 500° C. to 800° C.; introducing the TiAl alloy into the heated casting mold; accelerating the casting mold about a rotation axis spaced apart from the casting mold with an angular acceleration to a rotational speed within an acceleration time period as soon as the TiAl has reached the casting temperature, wherein a rotary axis of the produced impeller is arranged perpendicular to the rotation axis during the centrifugal casting.

  • Patent number: 9186758
Abstract: A method for producing a turbine rotor of an exhaust gas turbocharger, wherein the turbine rotor includes a turbine wheel with a hub and turbine blades that extend from the hub, and a shaft, includes the steps of: providing the turbine wheel and the shaft; forming a protective layer by applying or introducing a halogen on or in the surface of the turbine wheel and subsequently heat-treating the turbine wheel; and connecting the shaft to the hub of the turbine wheel after the protective coating is formed.

  • Publication number: 20150158134
Abstract: A method for producing a turbine rotor of an exhaust gas turbocharger, wherein the turbine rotor includes a turbine wheel with a hub and turbine blades that extend from the hub, and a shaft, includes the steps of: providing the turbine wheel, composed of a first material, and a shaft composed of a second material that is different from the first material; connecting the shaft to the hub of the turbine wheel; and forming a protective layer by applying or introducing a halogen on or in the surface of the turbine wheel and subsequently heat-treating the turbine rotor, the heat treatment being carried out in an environment having an oxygen partial pressure which is greater than a first oxygen partial pressure from which the first material is oxidized and is less than a second oxygen partial pressure from which the second material is oxidized.

  • Publication number: 20050173915
Abstract: A system for dampening vibrations transmitted from a surface over which a vehicle traverses and the engine of the vehicle, the vehicle having a steering column being supported on a retainer connected to the body of the vehicle, operatively connected to a steering gear and having a steering wheel, generally including means for emitting suppressing vibrations, mounted on the steering column between the retainer of the steering column and the steering wheel, and operatively connected to a control means; and means for sensing vibrations, mounted on the steering column between the vibration emitting means and the steering wheel and operatively connectable to the control means.
