  • Patent number: 5418669
Abstract: A magnetic tape having an elongate pressure-member support for supporting a pressure member and an elongate tape-guide-element support for supporting two tape guide elements. Two abutment parts are arranged at the location of side portions of the pressure-member support and the tape-guide-element support and take up the forces exerted by the side portions when the magnetic head cooperates with the pressure member and the tape-guide elements. The pressure-member support has at least one opening in each of the two areas of its side portions which face the abutment parts. The abutment parts and/or the tape-guide-element support have projections at parts of the side portions which face the abutment parts projecting towards the facing part of said two parts which projections are arranged to correspond to the openings in the pressure-member support.

  • Patent number: 5408378
Abstract: In a cassette (1) comprising a pressure-member support (58) arranged adjacent a side wail (8) to hold an elastic pressure member (56) by means of which a magnetic tape (2) can be pressed against a magnetic head which can be introduced into the cassette (1), and comprising a tape-guide-element support (69) arranged between the side wail (8) and the pressure-member support (58) and having two tape-guide elements (67, 68) arranged mirror-symmetrically relative to the pressure member (56), the pressure-member support (58) comprises two stepped portions (79, 80) such that its central portion (57) is offset relative to its two side portions (59, 60) towards the tape-guide-element support (69) adjacent the pressure-member support (58), and the central portion (57) of the pressure-member support (58) is supported on the tape-guide-element support (69) under the influence of a pretension.

  • Patent number: 5214554
Abstract: A cassette (1) for a record carrier (10) is provided with a sliding cover (2) for covering at least one opening (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21) in the cassette housing (3), which cover has at least one plate-shaped flange (28) which extends parallel to a main wall (5) of the cassette housing (3), hold-down means (41) overlying its edge zone (31), which extends parallel to the direction of movement (22) of the sliding cover (2) and has a given length (L), in order to hold down the flange (28). Suitably, the hold-down means (41) comprise at least two hold-down members (50, 51) whose dimension (A) parallel to the direction of movement (22) of the sliding cover (2) is only a fraction of the length (L) of the edge zone (31) of the flange (28) of the sliding cover (2), over which edge zone said hold-down members engage.

  • Patent number: 5187629
Abstract: A cassette comprises a housing which accommodates a magnetic tape partly wound on two reel hubs. A main wall of the housing has two openings which are coaxial with the reel hubs to allow the passage of reel spindles of a drive apparatus. The cassette further comprises a slide cover for covering the openings, which slide cover comprises blocking members which can cooperate with the reel hubs to inhibit their rotation. For this purpose the wall with openings has diametrically opposed recesses or cut-outs to allow the blocking members to engage with inner teeth provided in the reel hubs.
