  • Publication number: 20230379173
Abstract: Permission control and management for messaging application bots is described. A method can include providing a messaging application, on a first computing device associated with a first user, to enable communication between the first user and another user, and detecting, at the messaging application, a user request. The method can also include programmatically determining that an action in response to the user request requires access to data associated with the first user, and causing a permission interface to be rendered in the messaging application, the permission interface enabling the first user to approve or prohibit access to the data associated with the first user. The method can include accessing the data associated with the first user and performing the action in response to the user request, upon receiving user input from the first user indicating approval of the access to the data associated with the first user.

  • Patent number: 11540078
Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-attendee video conferencing are described. A system can perform spatial audio modulation techniques in video conference calls based on content type or participant role. In particular, by assigning user roles and content types to specific regions in a two- or three-dimensional audio sound space or “soundstage,” users can identify—simply by listening—the source of the audio (e.g., who the current speaker is and/or whether the sound came from a specific type of content). Thus, in example implementations of the present disclosure, each of a number of conference roles and/or content types can be allocated a particular virtual location within the audio soundstage.

  • Patent number: 11418471
Abstract: A system and method for identifying an entity from a message exchange thread and generating a suggestion that is directed to the entity, such as a suggestion for a user to take an action on the entity. A suggestion application receives at least one electronic message from a message exchange thread, identifies an entity that can be actionable from the electronic message, determines contextual indicators of the entity, determines whether the entity is actionable based on the contextual indicators, and responsive to the entity being actionable, provides a suggestion that is directed to the entity to a participant(s) of the message exchange thread.

  • Patent number: 10798028
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer readable media for bot interaction are described. For example, some implementations can include a computer-executed method including providing a messaging application, on a first computing device associated with a first user, to enable communication between the first user and at least one other user. The method can also include detecting, at the messaging application, a user request, and programmatically determining that an operation in response to the user request requires sharing of data associated with the first user.

  • Patent number: 10567574
Abstract: Implementations of the present application relate to caller preview data and call messages based on caller preview data. In some implementations, a method includes sending, by a caller device, a call request to one or more callee devices, and establishing a connection to at least one callee device prior to receipt of an acceptance of the call request by the callee device. At least a portion of caller preview data is transmitted to the callee device over the connection prior to the receipt of the call acceptance. In response to determining that the at least a portion of the caller preview data has been transmitted for a particular time period without receipt of the acceptance of the call request, information is transmitted to instruct a call message to be stored on the callee device, where the call message includes at least a part of the caller preview data.

  • Patent number: 10416846
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer readable media related to determining graphical element(s) (e.g., emojis, GIFs, stickers) for inclusion in an electronic communication being formulated by a user via a computing device of the user, and providing the graphical element(s) for inclusion in the electronic communication. For example, the graphical element(s) may be provided for presentation to the user via a display of the computing device of the user and, in response to user interface input directed to one of the graphical element(s), that graphical element may be incorporated in the electronic communication. In various implementations, the electronic communication is a communication to be submitted as part of a dialog that involves the user and one or more additional users.
