The method can also include programmatically determining that an action in response to the user request requires access to data associated with the first user, and causing a permission interface to be rendered in the messaging application, the permission interface enabling the first user to approve or prohibit access to the data associated with the first user. The method can include accessing the data associated with the first user and performing the action in response to the user request, upon receiving user input from the first user indicating approval of the access to the data associated with the first user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for signaling deviations in a user position during a video conference are provided. A reference position of a user within a field of view (FOV) of a camera associated with a client device is determined. The user is one of a plurality of participants of a video conference. A video stream generated by the camera associated with the client device is then received. The video stream comprises an image of the user of the client device. From the image, a current position of the user within the FOV is determined. Responsive to determining that a value of a metric reflecting a deviation of the current position from the reference position satisfies a threshold criterion, an alert to the user is generated.

A system can perform spatial audio modulation techniques in video conference calls based on content type or participant role. In particular, by assigning user roles and content types to specific regions in a two- or three-dimensional audio sound space or “soundstage,” users can identify—simply by listening—the source of the audio (e.g., who the current speaker is and/or whether the sound came from a specific type of content). Thus, in example implementations of the present disclosure, each of a number of conference roles and/or content types can be allocated a particular virtual location within the audio soundstage.

At least a portion of caller preview data is transmitted to the callee device over the connection prior to the receipt of the call acceptance. In response to determining that the at least a portion of the caller preview data has been transmitted for a particular time period without receipt of the acceptance of the call request, information is transmitted to instruct a call message to be stored on the callee device, where the call message includes at least a part of the caller preview data.
