Abstract: A method and device are described to increase the light output on specific areas of a display. The display may be part of a High Dynamic Range (HDR) device. The device includes a processor and a power source. The processor is configured to process a received content signal. The power source further includes a circuit configured to receive a request signal from the processor and, in response to the received request signal, adjust the power supply limitation that increases a light output on a first area of a display when the content signal is displayed.

Abstract: A video processor is responsive to an output of a pair of cameras that are used for determining a viewer viewing direction of a display screen. As long as the viewer's viewing angular direction is directed toward a center region of a display screen, the pan function is disabled. When the viewer's viewing angle crosses a first threshold angular direction away from the screen center, dynamically tracking pan function is enabled so as to shift the displayed picture. When the viewer's viewing angle crosses an even larger, second threshold angular direction, the picture will shift in the same direction but at a faster rate. When the viewer's viewing angular direction decreases in a manner to cross a threshold angular direction that is smaller than the first threshold angular direction further picture shift is suspended. Thereby, a hysteresis feature is incorporated.

Abstract: The present principles of the embodiments generally relate to an apparatus and a method for processing a file. In one exemplary embodiment, an electronic file such as e.g., a web page is searched based on one or providing a file containing a more category identifiers selected by a user. The file is processed to identify informational elements corresponding to the user selected category identifiers. If an information element is identified, the file is supplemented with one or more supplemental informational elements to provide a supplemented file. In one exemplary embodiment, the supplemental information elements may relate to one or more of media assets which the user may select to purchase or view.

Abstract: Imaging capabilities of a remote control are leveraged to automatically identify a remotely controllable device and program the remote control accordingly. The remote control uses its built-in image device to obtain an image of a remotely controllable device. The image is processed and compared to a database to determine the specific type of device. Other variations include information of a location of the remote control and/or a location of a controllable device to facilitate in determining and controlling a device.
