    Abstract: The Limosilactobacillus vaginalis BC17 strain, deposited with number DSM 34059, is usable as an agent for promoting a proliferation of intestinal bifidobacteria in a human subject. A method for promoting the proliferation of intestinal bifidobacteria in a human subject provides for administering to the human subject the Limosilactobacillus vaginalis BC17 strain deposited with number DSM 34059. The strain can be incorporated into a liquid or solid composition that can be administered orally or buccally and the human subject can be a neonate or a suckling. The strain can also be used to prepare compositions that are applicable to the skin of the nipples of a breast-feeding woman.
