  • Publication number: 20190179497
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media are described herein related to a user interface (UI) for a computing device, such as head-mountable device (HMD). The UI allows a user of the HMD to navigate through a timeline of ordered screens or cards shown on the graphic display of the HMD. The cards on the timeline may be chronologically ordered based on times associated with each card. Numerous cards may be added to the timeline such that a user may scroll through the timeline to search for a specific card. The HMD may be configured to group cards on the timeline. The cards may be grouped by multiple time periods and by various content types within each respective time period. The cards may also be grouped based on durations between the present/on-going time period and each respective time period.

  • Patent number: 10139917
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for gesture-initiated actions in videoconferences. In one implementation, a processing device receives content streams during a communication session, identifies a request for feedback within one of the content streams, based on an identification of the request for feedback, processes the content streams to identify one or more gestures within at least one of the content streams, and based on a determination that a first gesture of the one or more gestures is relatively more prevalent across the content streams than one or more other gestures, initiates an action with respect to the communication session.

  • Publication number: 20170061647
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for authenticating access to a wearable computing device using an authentication object, such as a hand. The wearable computing device comprises a head mountable display (HMD) and an image capture device and has access to a data profile for the authentication object. The wearable computing device provides (e.g., using the HMD) an indication for positioning the authentication object within a field of view of the image capture device. After providing the indication for positioning the authentication object, the wearable computing device receives image data from the image capture device. If the wearable computing device identifies the authentication object in the image data, for example, by matching at least a portion of the image data with data in the data profile, authentication is successful and one or more functions of the wearable computing device can be enabled.
