Abstract: The first end of the printing plate is introduced between the jaws of a clamping device housed in an axial groove of plate cylinder and tightened by means of screws. The plate is stretched on the cylinder surface and its distal end is engaged between the jaws of a second clamping device located in the axial groove, and the jaws are tightened by means of screws. The plate is stretched by feeding hydraulic jacks set at spaced intervals along the lower jaw of the clamping device of which the pistons react against the adjacent radial face of the groove, thus moving the clamping device in the peripheral direction of the cylinder. After obtaining the desired adjustment the displaced clamping device is locked by tightening in a tightening body responsive to screws projections of the displaced clamping device in order to lock same, and the pressure in the hydraulic circuit is relieved.

Abstract: This conveyor device for transferring freshly printed sheets from a printing machine to a stack or to another printing machine, comprises a first chain clips system movable continuously and adapted to hold with its clips the leading edge of the sheet. This first system comprises a rectilinear path section along which a second system of chain clips is provided, the clips of this second system, disposed in the same transport plane as those of the first system, being adapted to grip the trailing edge of each sheet as it penetrates this section, and to subsequently stretch the sheet tautly by accomplishing a slight backward movement in relation to the clips of the first system, and to hold the sheet taut throughout its travel through this section. This device is applicable notably to a drying station of a machine for printing sheets according to the direct plate printing process and is also adapted to turn the sheets.

Abstract: A cleaning device for a wiping cylinder of a direct plate printing machine, comprising a container for receiving the cleaner liquid, a first scraper in contact with the periphery of the wiping cylinder followed by brushes and further scrapers, at least two rows of nozzles parallel with the axis of the wiping cylinder for ejecting the cleaning liquid such that in the direction of rotation of the cylinder, the area of the wiping cylinder located in front of said scrapers and brushes being wetted by a continuous film of liquid, the level of liquid in the container being kept such that the wiping roller is never immersed in said liquid.
