  • Publication number: 20210398180
Abstract: Systems and methods according to which a mobile application is running on a driver's mobile device for authenticating ride share drivers. When a driver initially registers with a rideshare service, the driver is prompted to provide biometric information via a mobile app running on the driver's mobile device. The biometric information is then stored in a database with a ride share management server in a file associated with the driver's account. Subsequently, when the driver expresses an offer to provide a ride share trip, the server performs an authentication check based on the pre-stored biometric information. Furthermore, the system discloses herein facilitates increased rideshare revenue generation by creating referral chains for a driver when a previously-registered driver, or an affiliate of the rideshare service refers a proposed new driver to the rideshare service and the proposed new driver then registers with the rideshare service.

  • Publication number: 20150349315
Abstract: A battery terminal connector and process of manufacture. The battery terminal includes a connector body formed of an alloy comprising up to about 8.8 percent aluminum, up to 0.06 about percent magnesium, up to about 0.075 percent iron, up to about 0.006 percent lead, up to about 0.006 percent cadmium, up to 0.003 percent tin, up to 1.3 percent copper, the balance being zinc, all of said percentages being by weight of the composition. The connector is gravity molded or pressure cast, resulting in a battery terminal connector having high strength and electrical conductivity and good corrosion resistance.

  • Patent number: 9038714
Abstract: A dump bailer for downhole placement of flowable materials in a wellbore. The dump bailer has an elongated housing with a cavity for placement of the flowable materials. The housing has an open bottom. An expendable cap or plug, of a magnetic material, is held within the open bottom by a shear pin, sufficient to hold the plug in place with the material within the cavity. An electric solenoid surrounds the plug. Energizing the solenoid coil by electric current creates a magnetic field which overcomes the shear pin and forces the plug out of the open bottom. The material may then flow out of the cavity. Alternatively, a sliding sleeve may be disposed in the open bottom, which moves from a first closed position to a second open position, in response to the magnetic field.

  • Publication number: 20110048271
Abstract: An explosive device simulator system has a housing in the shape of an explosive device. The simulator includes a sound producing system inside the housing. A light producing system inside the housing receives an actuation signal from a trigger system. The trigger system may include a microcontroller, which can be used to include a delay between a trigger event and the actuation signal. The simulator may include a smoke producing system that includes a powder that is dispersed by a gas generator. The powder exits the housing through a number of vents. A cordite odor substance may be included in the powder to provide a realistic smell of an exploded device. A light producing system provides the flash of a real explosive device and is connected to the microcontroller.
