  • Publication number: 20050188761
Abstract: A device for detecting the flow of a fluid comprising a thermosensitive element (10) for intercepting a flow (F) of a fluid, and detecting means (20) for detection of a characteristic parameter (P) of the thermosensitive element (10); the characteristic parameter (P) is representative of the temperature of the thermosensitive element (10). The device (1) further comprises a processing block (30) connected to the detecting means (20) for calculating a characteristic magnitude (G) of the flow (F) depending on the characteristic parameter (P) detected by the detecting means (20).

  • Patent number: 6903290
Abstract: A safety switch includes an activation key housed in a casing, a pair of contact-holding elements, and a triad of electric terminals. The contact-holding elements oscillate between a passive position and an active position, the positions being imposed by a corresponding position of the activation key. The contact-holding elements are mutually electrically connected through conductive elements that, when operation of the switch takes place in a condition of failure, can move with respect to one another for relative displacement of mating surfaces to determine a loss of contact between the contact-holding elements.

  • Publication number: 20050067270
Abstract: A safety switch, in particular for thermal protection of an electrical apparatus, comprises a container inside which means for activation of said switch is housed, said means comprising a command key and a pair of contact carriers, that are movable and fixed respectively, and a thermoprotector device responsive to temperature variations in the environment to be controlled and adapted to act on the electric supply circuit of said apparatus depending on the perceived heat level. Said movable contact carrier oscillates between two positions, an open position at which said contact carriers are separated from each other and respectively a closed position, at which said contact carriers are in mutual contact, each of said positions being imposed by a corresponding position of said command key. The thermoprotector device acts in case of need on the electric supply circuit and separates the contact carriers from each other by forcing the command key to the open position.

  • Publication number: 20040168896
Abstract: Housed in a casing (1) is an activation key (2), a pair of contact-holding elements (10, 11) and a triad of electric terminals (6, 7, 9). The contact-holding elements (10, 11) are oscillating around the same oscillation axis (O-O) between two positions, a passive position and an active position respectively, each imposed by a corresponding position of the activation key. The central terminal (6) of said triad is in permanent electric contact with one (10) of said contact-holding elements. The contact holding element (10, 11) that is closed upon the corresponding terminal (7, 9) in a passive position is separated therefrom in an active position and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 5343735
Abstract: An apparatus for accurately measuring the water content of a moist gas containing less than 50 parts per million (ppm) of water comprises an isothermal heat-sink (14), a radiator (20), a Peltier heater-cooler (24) thermally arranged between the isothermal heat-sink (14) and the radiator (20). The heater-cooler (24) is transferring heat from the isothermal heat-sink (14) to the radiator (20) and vice versa. A phosphoric acid moisture cell (32) is in thermal contact with the isothermal heat-sink (14). Upon passing the moist gas through the cell (32) the amount of moisture in the moist gas is measured as variation of electrical current throughout the cell.

  • Patent number: 5294378
Abstract: A calibrating apparatus for isothermally introducing, into a stream of dry gas, amounts of moisture lower than 1000 ppb, said apparatus comprising:A. a moist gas generating unit, comprising in its turn:i) a cylindrical shell;ii) a permeation module, inside said cylindrical shell, containing water and comprising a peripheral membrane;iii) a thermal conditioner, arranged too inside said cylindrical shell, upstream of said permeation module;B. an isothermal heat sink, thermally connected to the outside surface of said cylindrical shell, wherein said moist gas generating unit, under item A), is lodged in a recess of said heat sink;C) a heat radiator;D) a Peltier heater-cooler, thermally arranged between said isothermal heat sink (under item B) and said heat radiator (under item C).

  • Patent number: 5139452
Abstract: A method is described for the automatic determination of the time when barium starts to evaporate, or "start time", of barium evaporable getters. A temperature difference measurement is made of the temperature of the glass wall outside the getter location by means of a sensor preferably comprising an infrared pyrometer calibrated on a wave length of about 10 .mu.m suitable for measuring temperatures of 0.degree.-500.degree. C. Under these conditions the temperature curve measured, through an integral function, follows the behavior of the temperature of the getter which reveals a typical behavior at the moment in which barium starts to evaporate. Once .DELTA.T has been calculated from the analysis of a series of experimental test results on the integral curve, that value corresponds to the start time. The measurement of temperature is transformed into a suitably amplified voltage this giving a value of V corresponding to the start time. This can then be used to automatically regulate the R.F.

  • Patent number: 4211245
Abstract: A hair-waving device is disclosed, which is composed of an axonic body (e.g. a cylinder or a cone) on the surface of which a helical groove is formed. The helical groove communicates with a straight short groove in an axial direction across which a hair-clamping strap is arranged removably. A helical clip comprised of a single helix coil serves for snappingly engaging the free end of the strand of hair concerned.
