  • Patent number: 5664841
Abstract: There is described a motor-vehicle seat having a head-rest which is adjustable both in height and in a way in which it tilts around a transverse axis with its lower edge more or less forwardly displaced. The backrest is further provided with a padding module which can be connected rapidly to the supporting body of the seat and includes a skeleton with a flexible arched spine, with adjustable arching, and strengthening transverse ribs.

  • Patent number: 5145232
Abstract: The squab of the seat is supported at its front and rear regions and by responsive support arms. The lower ends of the arms are mounted on the free ends of respective pivoted elements whose positions are adjustable selectively so as to enable the seat to be adjusted more precisely to the anthropometric characteristics of its occupant, the whole considerably reducing the vertical bulk of the squab and of the seat as a whole.

  • Patent number: 5026116
Abstract: A backrest for vehicle seats includes an inverted U-shaped support frame having an upper cross bar, two side arms and a cross bar interconnecting the lower ends of the side arms. A shaft is rotatably mounted on said support frame parallel to and adjacent the cross bar and a plurality of flexible elements extending generally vertically in side-by-side relation are connected at their upper ends to a first transverse element secured to the support frame and a lower transverse element which is connected to a pair of tensioning elements. The tensioning elements extend beneath the cross bar and upwardly over the guide bar extending between the side arms in the vicinity of the upper curved portion of the flexible elements which have an S-shaped configuration. A spacer cross member is disposed in engagement with the flexible elements in the vicinity of the upper curve and the upper ends of the tensioning elements extend over the guide bar and are connected to the spacer cross member.

  • Patent number: 4968093
Abstract: A backrest for vehicle seats includes an inverted U-shaped frame having an upper cross bar, two side arms having spaced apart lower ends and a shaft rotatably mounted between the lower ends. A plurality of flexible vertically disposed parallel strips are secured to the frame adjacent the upper end thereof. The strips have a generally S-shaped configuration with a lower forwardly convex curve for supporting the lumbar region of the back and an upper forwardly concave curve for supporting the upper dorsal region. A transverse support is connected to each of the strips intermediate the curves and the lower ends of the strips are connected to a flexible transverse member which in turn is connected to a bracket on the shaft so that upon rotation of the shaft the lower ends of the flexible strips will be compressed to vary the curvature of the lower curve.

  • Patent number: 4909568
Abstract: The front supporting surface of the backrest is defined by an array of flexible elements (7) located side by side and having a generally S-shaped configuration with a lower forwardly convex curve (4) for supporting the lumbar region of the back and an upper forwardly concave curve (5) for supporting the upper dorsal region. An adjustable device (10, 11) is connected to the lower ends of flexible elements (7) to enable the curvature of the flexible elements (7) to be altered selectively so as to obtain the best adaption of the backrest (1) to the characteristics of the person occupying the seat. A plurality of cables (13) are connected between the adjustable device and an upper cross member for altering the upper curvature of the flexible elements (7).

  • Patent number: 4489936
Abstract: The gymnastic implement is so conformed to train all the body's muscles, the resistance to the muscular action being represented by the user's weight. The implement has a board of suitable length for receiving the user's body in extended position and a frame member otherwise associable to said board and forming in its whole a lever system. The frame member has a first pair of parallel rods lying on a common plane, a second pair of parallel rods also lying on a common plane but inclined relative to the plane of said first pair of rods and elements interconnecting the rods of said first and second pairs transversely arranged relative to said board and forming the fulcrum and resistance of said lever system depending on the desired training to be carried out by the user.
