Abstract: The association of chitin or chitosan with soy saponins in an orally administered composition has appetite moderating and antigastritis activity. The objectionable side effects of the two active ingredients are also eliminated in the composition.

Abstract: Method for extracting metals amalgamatable with mercury from fluid material containing those metals in the form of metal particles. The method comprises contacting a slurry or aqueous solution containing metal particles of the metal to be recovered by amalgamation with a surface of a support amalgamated with mercury to form on the surface an amalgam with the metal to be recovered. A surface film is continuously removed from the surface of the support, and the surface of the support is continuously restored by electrolytic deposition of mercury thereon.

Abstract: A detergent composition for cleaning hair and skin is a mixture of:(a) a major amount of one or more oils of the group comprising mineral, vegetal, animal and synthetic oils, and(b) a minor amount of at least one emulsifying agent, preferably a mixture of emulsifying agents, one of which is a saccharose ester,whereby cleaning action is improved while a protecting lipid layer is left onto the skin. The composition may also contain a bentonite or montmorillonite clay to improve the hydrating and restoring effects thereof.

Abstract: A metal amalgamatable with mercury, gold in particular, is extracted from a slurry in which it is dispersed in low concentration, in particular from alluvial sands, by contact with mercury the surface of which is continuously freed of the sulfides which form thereon as a secondary process and is renewed continuously by electrolytic deposit of mercury.

Abstract: An extemporaneous injector assembly for use in transfusions and perfusions comprises a tubular conduit for passage therethrough of a transfusional or perfusional liquid, which is provided with a tubular branch communicating with the conduit for feeding a nourishing solution, a medicinal solution or a like solution into the transfusional or perfusional liquid. A pre-perforated normally impervious diaphragm, which becomes, however, pervious under the action of a prefixed minimum pressure, is positioned in the tubular branch.
