Patent number: 11738767Abstract: A vehicular driving assistance system includes a plurality of sensors disposed at a vehicle and sensing respective regions exterior of the equipped vehicle. A plurality of microphones is disposed at the equipped vehicle and sense sounds emanating from exterior of the vehicle. An ECU, responsive to indication of an intended lane change of the equipped vehicle, and via processing of sensor data captured by at least one of the sensors, determines presence of another vehicle in an adjacent traffic lane. Responsive to determination of the presence of the other vehicle in the adjacent traffic lane, the ECU, via processing outputs of at least one microphone of the plurality of microphones, determines if the determined other vehicle is accelerating. Responsive to determination that the determined other vehicle is accelerating, the vehicular driving assistance system generates an alert to the driver of the equipped vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2021Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: Magna Electronics Inc.Inventor: Antonio Luna Arriaga

Patent number: 10100475Abstract: An apparatus for the collection of animal feces utilizing two oppositely disposed arms which are used to sweep and collect feces and allow a user to more easily collect feces into a standard sized collection bag without touching the feces or feeling the texture of the feces through a bag. The apparatus further has either a sweeper or a dust pan at a distal location of the arms to perform the function of collecting the feces when the apparatus arms are squeezed together. During non use, the animal defecation collection apparatus has a collapsible sweeper blade and collapsible dust pan blade that fold and allow the apparatus to be more compact when stored. Further, there is a locking mechanism to allow the arms to be retained together to be more compact during storage.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2018Date of Patent: October 16, 2018Inventor: Jose Antonio Luna

Patent number: 9658113Abstract: An optical device (10) for determining a physical parameter includes: a laser diode (11) for emitting a beam toward a target; an element for detecting (13) an interferometric signal SM(t) which includes the information on the physical parameter to be determined, and which is generated by an interference between the emitted beam and a light beam reflected by the target; element for converting (15) the signal SM(t) obtained by the detection element (13) into a measurement of the physical parameter, the conversion element (15) including: first element (17) for suppressing a continuous component Off(t) of the interferometric signal SM(t); second element (18) for determining interferometric peaks in the interferometric signal SM(t) obtained from the signal obtained at the output of the first element (17). An associated method, particularly suitable for speckle interferometric signals is also described.Type: GrantFiled: July 4, 2014Date of Patent: May 23, 2017Assignees: INSTITUT NATIONAL POLYTECHNIQUE DE TOULOUSE, CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUEInventors: Thierry Bosch, Francis Bony, Antonio Luna Arriaga

Patent number: 5820475Abstract: Abstract: A portable golf ball teeing machine which comprises of a golf ball tray (11), a foldable forward bracket (22) and rear bracket (29), a removable teeing arm (77), an alignment mechanism for aligning the tee ring (78) to a rubber tee (47). The golf ball tray (11) contains a teeing arm channel (83) wherein the teeing arm (77) completely fits within the golf ball tray (11). The golf ball tray (11) is slanted such that a plurality of golf balls (48) rest to the rightmost, bottom corner (13). The golf ball tray (11) also contains a corrugated guards walls (17) which arranges the plurality golf balls (48) in an alternating order. The teeing arm (77) is a counter-weighted pivoting arm which pivots upon the introduction of a golf ball (51) to a ball receiving plate (85) and lines up the golf ball (51) to a rubber tee (47). Upon teeing up the golf ball (51) into the rubber tee (47), the teeing arm (77) pivots out of the way.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1997Date of Patent: October 13, 1998Inventor: Antonio A. Luna

Patent number: 5285174Abstract: A temperature-compensated junction isolator (28) is used with a waveguide junction (20) in a hollow microwave waveguide system (22). The junction isolator (28) includes a ferrite cylinder (34) within the waveguide walls (30 and 32) at the junction with its cylinder axis (36) perpendicular to the waveguide walls (30 and 32). A pair of temperature-compensation washers (38) are aligned with the cylinder axis (36) of the ferrite cylinder (34) and are positioned external to the waveguide walls (30 and 32). Each washer (38) has a central opening (40) smaller in diameter than the diameter of the ferrite cylinder (34) and is made of a material whose permeability decreases with increasing temperature, preferably a nickel-iron alloy with about 30 percent iron. A pair of magnets (42) are aligned with the cylinder axis (36) of the ferrite cylinder (34), one of the magnets (42) being located exterior to each of the temperature-compensation washers (38 ).Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1992Date of Patent: February 8, 1994Assignee: Hughes Aircraft CompanyInventors: Omar M.
