  • Patent number: 4886192
Abstract: An improved liquid soap dispenser is described which essentially comprises a L-shaped wall bracket provided with a lever and piston device to actuate a dispensing nozzle, connected to a tank with a cover mounted on the bracket. The dispensing nozzle is directly fastened to the tank by means of a ring which is preferably formed to incorporate a valve element of the nozzle. The tank may have an upstanding portion for mounting and opening a disposable soap cartridge. As an alternative the liquid soap can also be contained directly in the tank, by pouring the same in bulk into the tank.

  • Patent number: 4738176
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing paper towels of predetermined length includes a case, a supply roll of a continuous paper web, a mechanism for advancing the paper web outside the case, a mechanism for at least partially cutting the paper web protruding from the case, and a motor for driving both mechanisms, the motor shaft being rotated in a first direction until a paper web of predetermined length is advanced outside the case and then reversed so that the paper advancement is stopped and the paper web is cut. A first unidirectional coupler is arranged between the motor and the advancing mechanism and a second unidirectional coupler is arranged between the motor and the cutting mechanism to selectively actuate either of the advancing or cutting mechanisms according to the rotational direction of the motor shaft. The length of the dispensed towel is an integral multiple of an elementary length and the number of elementary lengths by which the paper web is advanced before being cut is switch selectable.

  • Patent number: 4676131
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing paper towels of predetermined length includes a housing, a supply roll of a continuous paper web, means for advancing the paper web outside the case, means for at least partially cutting the paper web protruding from the case, and a motor for driving both such means. The motor is an electric d.c. motor which is rotated in a first direction until a paper web of predetermined length is advanced outside the case. The rotation is then reversed so that the paper advancement is stopped and the paper web is out. A first unidirectional coupling means is arranged between the motor and the advancing means and a second unidirectional coupling means is arranged between the motor and the cutting means to selectively actuate either of the advancing or cutting means according to the rotational direction of the motor.

  • Patent number: 4673109
Abstract: A liquid soap dispensing system includes a molded plastic housing adapted to receive a disposable refill cartridge containing liquid soap. Rails on the housing engage in recesses on the cartridge to guide vertical movement of the cartridge to its mounted use position, in which position it is latched by a latch member pivotally carried by the housing and engageable with the outlet neck of the cartridge. The neck carries a compressible discharge nipple engageable by a pump member actuated by a handle for discharging soap. Bias means holds the latch means in its latched condition and the pump member and handle in their normal rest positions. The dispenser includes a minimal number of parts which can be assembled without the use of fasteners. A key is provided for releasing the latch member to permit removal of a spent cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4560093
Abstract: A dispenser for liquid soap having an external envelope consisting of a first body forming a removable housing seating for a container of liquid soap equipped with a dispensing nozzle, and of a second body movable with respect to said first body. The second body acts on the dispensing nozzle so that it dispenses measured amounts of liquid soap.

  • Patent number: 4345627
Abstract: A liquid soap dispensing system includes a closed soap container having a manually actuated dispensing pump carried therebeneath, the container being separated by a partition into a lower soap reservoir and an upper refill compartment, the latter adapted to enclose therein a removable refill cartridge. The cartridge has an outlet neck closed by a pierceable membrane recessed therein and adapted to be received into a well in the partition in surrounding relationship with a hollow tubular piercing member which pierces the membrane and is dimensioned to accommodate free flow of liquid soap therethrough from the cartridge to the reservoir. The cartridge is semirigid and has guide surfaces engageable with positioning members in the refill compartment for guiding and positioning the cartridge therein. A twist-off cap opens a vent aperture in the cartridge while a vent tube vents the reservoir. A slot in the wall of the refill compartment prevents the accumulation of free liquid soap therein.

  • Patent number: 4214676
Abstract: A dispenser for liquid soap including two telescoping housing members generally cylindrical in shape and having the longitudinal axes thereof inclined upwardly, the inner housing member being mountable on a wall and the outer housing member having a broad contact area accessible to a user, a support extending upwardly and forwardly from the inner housing member and telescopically receiving a guide on the outer housing member with a spring therebetween, a discharge member removably mounted on the inner housing member and having a soap outlet in registration with an opening with the outer housing member and having structure for removably attaching a liquid soap container thereto, a pump on the discharge member for pumping charges of liquid soap from the liquid soap container to the soap outlet, and an actuating member on the outer housing operating the pump upon shifting of the housing members from the rest positions thereof to the actuating positions thereof; also disclosed is a novel container for liquid soap

  • Patent number: 4173858
Abstract: A liquid soap dispensing system includes a closed soap container having a manually actuated dispensing pump carried therebeneath. Refill of the container is by a plastic refill squeeze bottle with a neck defining an outlet opening closed by a membrane recessed therein. One embodiment of the bottle is formed by ultrasonically welding in the neck end, after the bottle is filled, a plug defining a cylindrical sleeve closed at the inner end thereof by a closure wall. The neck is inserted into a well in the top of the container, and a hollow piercing member at the bottom of the well ruptures the membrane or closure member, whereupon soap may be squeezed from the bottle and through the passage through the hollow piercing member, which is constricted by septa dividing the passage into channels such that flow of liquid soap therethrough at equal pressures at both ends of the passage is substantially inhibited.

  • Patent number: 4149573
Abstract: A liquid soap dispensing system includes a closed soap container having a manually actuated dispensing pump carried therebeneath and being mounted on a bracket which has support fingers engageable with a lip on the container bottom for supporting it and a flexible retaining finger engageable with a groove in the top of the container for releasably holding it immovably against the bracket. A bottom wall extends from the bracket beneath the container and cooperates therewith to enclose the dispensing pump and is provided with an aperture to accommodate dispensing of soap therethrough. Refill of the container is by a plastic refill squeeze-bottle with a neck closed by a membrane. The neck is inserted in a wall in the top of the container, and a piercing member at the bottom of the well ruptures the membrane, whereupon soap may be squeezed from the bottle and through apertures in the well bottom, which apertures are too small to permit ready flow of soap therethrough by gravity at ambient pressure.

  • Patent number: 4131044
Abstract: A cut-off mechanism is provided in a dispenser for dispensing a web of paper towel from a supply roll thereof, the cut-off mechanism including a flat cam member fixedly secured to the dispenser feed roller for rotation therewith and a drive member having a generally cylindrical portion cooperating with the cam member to form a chamber for a spiral coiled spring secured between the drive member and the dispenser feed roller so that rotation of the latter with respect to the former during dispensing of the web winds the spring. The drive member is connected by linkage to a movable cutting blade and is also provided with a stop surface which is engageable with a latch member normally to hold the movable blade motionless during winding of the spring.
