  • Publication number: 20220096723
Abstract: A system is described for the regional decoagulation of the blood in an extracorporeal circulation circuit comprising means for infusion of a solution of a citrate or citric acid on the main circuit, which are set upstream of the first filtration unit; for infusion of a solution for electrolyte restoration on the main circuit, which are set downstream of the filtration unit and a secondary circuit for recirculation of the plasma water obtained by the filtration unit. The secondary circuit comprises: a first cartridge comprising an anion-exchange resin charged with chlorine ions; a second cartridge comprising a cation-exchange resin charged with sodium and potassium ions, which is set downstream of the first cartridge and means for removal of a first fraction of the plasma water obtained by the filtration unit.

  • Publication number: 20210330750
Abstract: A kit includes the components lactic acid, insulin and glucose, and optionally one or more components selected from a glucagon inhibitor, an alpha-beta adrenergic blocker and an antidiabetic agent, for treating a glycolysis-dependent pathological condition in a human or animal. A treatment includes intravascular, in particular intravenous, delivery of the components lactic acid, insulin and glucose into the circulation of the human or animal to be treated to induce hypoglycemia and hyperlactatemia. The glycolysis-dependent pathological condition is selected from the group consisting of cancer, bacterial infection or parasite infection.

  • Publication number: 20210252205
Abstract: The present invention concerns an extracorporeal circuit for removing CO2 from blood comprising a blood withdrawal line for withdrawing blood from the patient, a filtration unit for producing plasma water and a line for returning the blood to the patient, defining a main circuit; the extracorporeal circuit further comprises a decarbonating group comprising a secondary circuit for the recirculation of plasma water, means for removing a fraction of said plasma water, a CO2 exchanger, a cationic resin charged with H+ ions set upstream of the CO2 exchanger and adapted to generate acid plasma water, means for the infusion of the acid plasma water upstream of the CO2 exchanger and means for the infusion of ions in a solution downstream of the CO2 exchanger.

  • Patent number: 10953175
Abstract: A method for the management of secretions in an intubated patient by means of an endotracheal tube to which an inflatable cuff is externally associated, includes the steps of inflating the inflatable cuff for isolating the broncho-pulmonary zone of the patient from the external environment, generating a succession of overpressures inside the endotracheal tube in order to induce breathing in the patient, and a step of deflating the inflatable cuff during the generation of one of the overpressures in order to permit a drainage of the secretions generated by the patient along the trachea towards the outside.

  • Patent number: 9795730
Abstract: A blood treatment method is described that is adapted to at least partially eliminate the carbon dioxide content of the type comprising a step of drawing a blood flow. Advantageously according to the invention, the method further comprises the steps of: acidifying the blood flow with transformation of the related blood bicarbonate content into gaseous carbon dioxide; and eliminating the gaseous carbon dioxide content by means of a pressure gradient.

  • Publication number: 20170224898
Abstract: The present invention relates to an extracorporeal circuit for CO2 removal from blood comprising a line for taking blood from the patient, a decarboxylation assembly and a line for returning the blood to the patient; said decarboxylation assembly comprising a first filtering unit, an oxygenator, an electrodialyzer adapted to generate an acid solution and a basic solution and means for the infusion of said acid solution upstream of said oxygenator, wherein said electrodialyzer comprises a first electrodialysis chamber and a second electrodialysis chamber, said first and second electrodialysis chambers being separated by an ionic membrane, and in that wherein said first chamber and said second chamber are respectively separated from the positive electrode, or anode, and from the negative electrode, or cathode, by means of a bipolar membrane.
