Abstract: A procedure and an installation for the control of home appliances that uses only the data that is necessary, avoiding saturation of the memories of the elements involved and/or the communications bandwidth. The procedure is simple and reliable so that it does not require the intervention of an expert user or a service person. The procedure includes the standardization of the data identifiers of each home appliance by identifying the identifier that contains a value for each data point and checking that the scale of each data point is equivalent to a predetermined scale. The installation includes a standardization system for such purpose.

Abstract: Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service (DDS) DomainParticipants communication methods and system are provided using the Real-Time Publish Subscribe (RTPS) wire protocol over one or more wide area networks (WAN). Three main issues are addressed: Network Address Translation traversal, Changes in IP addresses, and Efficient bandwidth utilization. Embodiments lead to a scalable solution for WAN Connectivity of DDS Applications using RTPS Wire Protocol. This is a connectionless solution that works on top of UDP as the IP transport. The key benefits of this solution are: Low latency communication with reliable and best-effort data delivery, Minimal data loss when moving across networks, including firewalls/NATs, Minimal migration impact for existing applications. No changes to the API, and Scalability using UDP versus legacy TCP solution.

Abstract: Autonomous system for the remote management of pay-for-use devices, such as printers, fax machines, scanners, servers and routers, among others, constituted by electronic devices (1), of reduced size, connected to each of the remote units (4) to be managed, capable of reading the meter value, processing and storing the information and sending it, through one or several existing communications networks (2), to a collection centre (3). Specifically, said device (1) has an interface for connection to the ETHERNET network for sending and receiving electronic mail via Internet, or for configuring the device itself through a server accessing its web page, and a GSM modem for sending the information by means of calls or short messages via radio. Also, the Flash EEPROM and dynamic RAM allow the software required by the system and the data storage respectively to be run.
