  • Patent number: 10399867
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling algae and bio-organisms in bodies of fluids, such as water. The algae control system includes a power unit and a transducer unit that includes a sonic head that radiates in multiple directions. The power unit connects to various power sources, including a mains supply connection, a solar panel array, and/or a battery. The power unit is electrically connected to the transducer unit. The sonic head includes a driver and a transducer subassembly. The driver excites the transducer subassembly to emit ultrasonic waves at various frequencies in the water surrounding the sonic head. Emissions at a high density of frequencies are enabled by the transducers. The frequencies include the critical structural resonant frequency for each microorganism to be controlled. The power unit and driver each include a processor in communication with each other. The processors store and execute a program for a selected application configuration.

  • Publication number: 20180145519
Abstract: Apparatus for a modular battery management system for a battery having a plurality of cells. The system includes interchangeable chargers each associated with a slave module. The chargers are connected to each cell and a master module controlling the system. All the modules receive power through a transfer switch that selectively switches between external sources and the battery. With the transfer switch connecting the battery to the charger modules, each charger operates independently to maintain its associated cell. Each charger is electrically isolated from the other chargers. The external sources provide capacity information used by the master module. The slave modules are autonomous and shut down the battery and disconnect the module when a critical parameter of the cell is reached. When the battery is in service and a cell parameter approaches the critical level, the master controller instructs the corresponding slave module to charge the cell using battery power.

  • Patent number: 9876367
Abstract: Apparatus for a modular battery management system for a battery having a main load and an auxiliary load across a portion of the battery. The system includes interchangeable slave modules connected to each cell and a master module controlling the system. All the modules receive power through a transfer switch that selectively switches between external sources and the battery. The external sources provide capacity information used by the master module. Each slave module is configured to charge and monitor its associated cell individually. Each slave module is electrically isolated from the other modules. The slave modules are autonomous and shut down the battery and disconnect the module when a critical parameter of the cell is reached. When the battery is in service and a cell parameter approaches the critical level, the master controller instructs the corresponding slave module to charge the cell using battery power.

  • Patent number: 8547065
Abstract: Apparatus for a modular battery management system with interchangeable slave modules connected to each cell and including a master module controlling and managing the battery system. All the modules receive power through a transfer switch that selectively switches between an external source, an auxiliary source, and the battery. The modules are configured to connect to a cell of the battery for charging and monitoring the cell individually. Each module is electrically isolated from the other modules. The modules are autonomous and shut down the battery and disconnect the module when a critical parameter of the cell is reached. When the battery is in service and a cell parameter approaches the critical level, the master controller instructs the corresponding slave module to charge the cell using battery power. The master module initializes the slave modules to uniquely identify the modules.

  • Patent number: 8405346
Abstract: Apparatus for transferring power to through an isolated, insulated connection. A power transfer assembly includes a portable cable assembly and a receiver. The portable cable assembly includes a power plug and a transmitter with a plug portion that mates with a receptacle on the receiver. A magnetic latch secures the plug portion in the ring receptacle. The transmitter includes a power supply, a power switch, a signal sensor, and a transmitting inductor. The receiver includes a receiving inductor, a signal coil, a magnet, a power converter, a temperature sensor, and an isolation switch. When the transmitter is coupled with the receiver, the power switch is operated by the magnet, the signal sensor is magnetically coupled to the signal coil, and the transmitting inductor is magnetically coupled to the receiving inductor. The normally open isolation switch is operated when the power converter is energized by the transmitter.
