Abstract: A device for folding foldable blanks device includes a conveyor belt for conveying the blanks and a folding cylinder for receiving a first region of a blank from the conveyor belt, wherein the conveyor belt is provided with a plurality of suction openings which are arranged such that, by means of a vacuum unit assigned thereto, the suction openings hold a second region of the foldable unfashioned piece on the conveyor belt at least during folding.

Abstract: A method for converting a letter envelope production machine from a set-up mode to a normal production mode includes extracting letter envelope test samples via an extraction point of the letter envelope production machine, and moving a work station in the area of the extraction point between the extraction point at which letter envelope test samples are extracted and a production position in which letter wraps are produced. The work station is in the extraction position during the set-up mode and the letter envelope test samples are extracted at the extraction point. The letter envelope production machine continues running at a base speed during the conversion so that the movement of the work station to the production position during the operation of the letter envelope production machine will occur at base speed and set-up results obtained during the prior set-up mode will be maintained.

Abstract: A roller air supply structure has a stationary compressed air supply having a stationary pressure chamber that can be loaded with pressure, and a rotatable roller that has at least one opening in a surface thereof operable to be loaded with compressed air from the stationary compressed air supply. The roller is surrounded in the axial area of the opening to be loaded with compressed air in the circumferential direction at least in sections by the stationary pressure chamber. The compressed air supply has a sealing element that can be moved by loading the pressure chamber with compressed air from a position of rest into a sealing position and by relieving the pressure of the pressure chamber to ambient pressure from the sealing position into the position of rest.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for opening the sealing flaps of a carton using drive elements for spreading or folding such sealing flaps open as required for packaging cartons having sealed bottoms. The boxes are inverted and lowered from a floating position with the bottom up and the sealing flaps hanging down. The flaps are placed on drive elements which move away from each other and in the flap opening direction. The box is then moved to a packaging area in the inverted position and lowered over the materials to be packaged.
