  • Patent number: 6016093
Abstract: A deflection unit having a hollow synthetic material coil support within which a line deflection coil system is arranged, which line deflection coils are connected in an electric circuit to a line balance coil arrangement comprising a cylinder which is provided with two sub-coils and within which a magnet core is movably arranged. The coil cylinder is secured to the coil support and is provided with an arrangement of metal (connection) strips which ensure a direct connection between the balance coil lead-outs, the line deflection coils and a tap.

  • Patent number: 5804913
Abstract: A cathode ray tube (1) including an electron gun (6) for generating at least one electron beam and a deflection unit for deflecting the electron beam(s) across a display screen. The deflection unit (11) includes a first system (21) and a second system (22, 32) of saddle-shaped deflection coils. Which are interconnected via connecting pieces (41, 51, 63, 64) which are flexibly arranged with respect to each other.

  • Patent number: 5714834
Abstract: A cathode ray tube is provided with a deflection unit. The yoke is secured to a flange of a coil holder by means of connecting elements. These connecting elements are flexible in the radial direction so that differences in thermal expansion between the yoke and the rest of the deflection unit are compensated in a flexible manner. By virtue thereof, movement of the yoke relative to the coils, which leads to an irreversible change of the deflection fields, is precluded or is at least less likely.

  • Patent number: 5194785
Abstract: An electromagnetic deflection unit (7) coaxially surrounds a part of the envelope (1) of a cathode array tube. The deflection unit (7) comprises a coil support (8) and a deflection coil system (11, 11') which is located between the coil support (8) and the envelope (1). Each end portion (18, 18') of the coils (11, 11') is located exclusively on the side of the front flange (16, 16') of the associated coil (11, 11') facing away from the envelope (1). By virtue thereof, the deflection unit (7) can be tilted relative to the envelope (1) such that a sufficient degree of convergence of electron beams on the display screen of the cathode ray tube is obtained.
