  • Patent number: 5689923
Abstract: A device for locking steel reinforcing or prestressing members (15) in a positive manner in an anchorage (14) includes an axially extending cylindrical anchoring sleeve (1) with a throughbore (2) and a deformation section (3) extending from a leading end in the setting direction (S) and divided by axially extending slots (4) into at least six bending elements (5). An expanding element (8) with a throughbore (9) free of threads has a contact surface (10) for the bending elements (5) and the contact surface is inclined relative to the axis A of the anchoring sleeve (1). The expanding element (8) can be displaced against the deformation section (3) for spreading the bending elements (5) radially outwardly against the receiving surface of a receiving bore in a base material forming the anchorage. The contact surface (10) forms an angle (.alpha.) with the axis (A) of the anchoring sleeve (1) in a range of approximately 30.degree. to 80.degree..

  • Patent number: 5666779
Abstract: A method forming a pressure-free expansion anchor in a cylindrical borehole (2) with an undercut (3) in a receiving material forming an anchorage, with an undercut expansion dowel (5) inserted into the borehole. The dowel (5) has an axially-extending threaded rod (9) extending through a sleeve (6) with outwardly displaceable segments (7) on the sleeve for effecting a positive lock in the region of the undercut. The method involves introducing a curable mortar (M) into the region of the undercut, where the mortar forms a bond with the region of the undercut and the displaced elements (7) of the sleeve (6).

  • Patent number: 5288190
Abstract: An expansion dowel assembly for use in undercut bores in a receiving material includes an axially extending anchor bolt with a load application section at a trailing end region of the bolt and an expansion cone at a leading end region thereof. An expansion sleeve followed by a guide sleeve are arranged between the leading end region and the trailing end region of the anchor bolt. A component to be secured for a surface of the receiving material is centered by the guide sleeve and any lateral loads generated by the component are absorbed by the guide sleeve. The guide sleeve fits around a trailing end region of the anchor bolt and has an annular flange at its trailing end extending laterally outwardly from the guide sleeve and arranged to bear against a surface of the component.

  • Patent number: 5201104
Abstract: A tool (1) for extracting expansion sleeves (2) of expansion anchor assembles includes an axially extending tubular shaft with a conical external thread (1b) at its leading end to be inserted into a borehole (9) in a structural member (3). The external thread tapers inwardly to the leading end. At its trailing end the shaft (1a) has a force applying member or members. The shaft (1a) has a central axially extending through hole (1d) for laterally enclosing an anchor bolt (4). After the expansion sleeve is relieved of expanding force by hammering the anchor bolt (4) into the borehole, the external thread (1b) on the extracting tool (1) is screwed into a gap between the anchor bolt (4) and the expansion sleeve (2). External thread (1b) cuts into the inner wall (2b) of the expansion sleeve (2) as the extracting tool is screwed in and, as a result, forms a positively locked connection with the expansion sleeve.
