Patent number: 10206368Abstract: A milking system includes a milking apparatus for milking of dairy animals, and a plurality of wearing parts, inclusive of teat liners and/or milk lines and/or pulsation lines. The system further includes a computer system configured to control and/or monitor the milking apparatus, and to generate a signal which indicates that one of the wearing parts should be replaced and provides a characterization of that wearing part. The milking system further includes a 3D printer operatively connected to the computer system and configured to print the characterized part on the basis of the generated signal. Thus it is not necessary to keep an unnecessarily large stock of spare parts, but it becomes possible to directly provide the spare parts quickly, cheaply and with less chance of errors. Moreover, it is thus possible to tailor the parts, especially teat liners, to animals.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2016Date of Patent: February 19, 2019Assignee: LELY PATENT N.V.Inventor: Antoon Peter Andre Theelen

Publication number: 20150201576Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method of managing a group of dairy animals. More particularly, the invention relates to measuring one or more milk parameters, comparing this parameter to a criterion, and allowing an animal access to a pasture based on this comparison. The milk parameter is related to the composition of milk obtained from a dairy animal in as far as the composition is defined by at least one of the amount of protein and the energy intake of the dairy animal. The measured milk parameter is, for example, urea. Access to the pasture will be completely or partly blocked for a dairy animal having a high content of urea. This dairy animal is thus prevented from taking in an undesirably large amount of protein.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2015Publication date: July 23, 2015Applicant: LELY PATENT N.V.Inventors: Karel VAN DEN BERG, Antoon Peter André THEELEN, Alexander VAN DER LELY

Publication number: 20030145794Abstract: The invention refers to a method and a device for performing an animal related action on an animal. The device comprises a machine arranged to permit milking of the animal according to a process being determined by a number of adjustable parameters defining the nature of the process. The value of a variable related to one or more animals is determined for said animal by determining means. The animal related action is performed on the animal during a current animal related action by means of the machine, wherein at least one of said parameters is adjusted in response to said determined value by control means.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2003Publication date: August 7, 2003Applicant: LELY ENTERPRISES AGInventors: Alexander VAN DER LELY, Antoon Peter Andre THEELEN
