  • Patent number: 6324367
Abstract: A reversible pump including a case having an intake through which fluid is taken in, a first outlet for discharging internal fluid to the outside, and a second outlet for discharging internal fluid to the outside, an impeller rotatably installed within the case which is capable of rotating in normal and reverse directions, the impeller having a plurality of blades the right and left sides of which are symmetrical to each other in the radial direction of the impeller so that the rotational loads in both the forward and reverse directions are substantially the same, and a motor for rotating the impeller, wherein the fluid is discharged to either the first or second outlet according to the rotating direction of the impeller.

  • Patent number: 4496644
Abstract: Apparatus and method for developing electrographically formed electrostatic images. Background development and "flaming" are minimized by applying composite D.C. and A.C. signals to a development electrode in a magnetic brush. The DC signal level is selected to minimize background development and the AC signal is chosen to minimize flaming.

  • Patent number: 4493548
Abstract: Apparatus for supporting and tentering a flexible member on a layer of a gaseous medium. A support member has an array of passages which exit at a surface and which are arranged in at least two outwardly diverging rows which run obliquely to the path of travel of a flexible member. Channels are provided which run parallel to the rows of passages and each of which has a curved edge adjacent to the row of passages. The passages are oriented to emit gaseous medium in a direction having a component in the direction of travel of the flexible member, a component transverse to and outwardly to tenter the flexible member and a component perpendicular to the member. The gaseous medium is exhausted over the curved edges of the channels in a laminar flow.

  • Patent number: 4232959
Abstract: Apparatus for fusing a toner image carried by a support. The apparatus includes first and second members, at least one of which is heated, which are supported in variable pressure engagement to fuse a toner image carried by a support passed between the members. A sensor senses the temperature of the heated member(s) and the pressure of engagement force is varied as a function of the temperature in order to maintain consistent fused image quality.
