  • Patent number: 11053471
Abstract: The method and preparation for the delivery of selective small molecule phytochemical based and pharmacologically active media through a cell membrane to enhance food groups for health protection and benefits is a method of selectively delivering a pharmacologically active small molecule phytochemical (referred to as a selective small molecule P and P active media) to specifically targeted cells within a body. The method comprises attaching the pharmacologically active small molecule phytochemical to a nutrient. The nutrient is selected such that the nutrient is selectively brought into the targeted cells as part of the metabolic process. The selected nutrient brings the pharmacologically active small molecule phytochemical through a cell membrane with the selected nutrient.

  • Patent number: 10918993
Abstract: The Phipps indoor air filter (PIAF) is configured for use with an indoor atmosphere that contains one or more pathogenic viruses. The PIAF is a pharmacologically and phytochemically (P&P) active structure that removes the one or more viruses from the confined indoor atmosphere. The PIAF removes the one or more viruses by: a) sequestering the one or more viruses within the PIAF; and, b) terminating the biological processes of the one or more viruses using P&P structures. The PIAF incorporates a flow chamber and a filter structure. The flow chamber contains the filter structure. The flow chamber forces or draws an air flow through the filter structure contained within the flow chamber. The filter structure physically and biochemically: a) sequesters the one or more viruses; and, b) terminates the biological processes of the one or more viruses by exposing the one or more viruses to the P&P structures.

  • Patent number: 10537872
Abstract: The novel sorbents for capturing acid and greenhouse gases converts red mud into a sorbent material that can be used to remove acid and greenhouse gases, utilizing a series of chemical reactions. The first set of reactions entail sorption of the acid/greenhouse gases and subsequent neutralization by the alkali content of the red mud. The salts generated by the neutralization reactions decompose to release the acid gases which are immediately converted to environmentally benign elemental products (N2, O2, S) by thermo-catalytic reactions. In a different set of reactions, the alkaline earth oxides (CaO and MgO) present in the sorbent capture the acid/greenhouse gases and convert them to nitrate, nitrite, carbonate and sulfite salts. The salts (beside carbonate) decompose to yield the acid gases which are converted to elemental products by thermo-catalytic reactions. The loaded sorbents are thermally regenerated to the oxide forms for re-capturing the gases.

  • Patent number: 10059605
Abstract: The process for creating one or more engineered media for use in a water purification filter is a passive multi-stage multi-media filter for use in water purification. The process for creating one or more engineered media for use in a water purification filter removes harmful contaminants from a water stream including, but not limited to, toxic heavy metals and metalloids, pharmaceutical residues, micro-toxins, endocrine disrupters, chlorinated and other halogenated solvents, fluoride, nitrate, and naturally occurring radioactive contaminants. The process for creating one or more engineered media for use in a water purification filter maintains concentrations of phytochemicals that provide health benefits. Water processed through the process for creating one or more engineered media for use in a water purification filter meets United States, European Union and World Health Organization standards for safe drinking water.

  • Patent number: 9963367
Abstract: The GURU-BRAHMA filter for purifying drinking water is a passive multi-stage multi-media filter for use in water purification. The GURU-BRAHMA filter for purifying drinking water removes harmful contaminants from a water stream including, but not limited to, toxic heavy metals and metalloids, pharmaceutical residues, microtoxins, endocrine disrupters, chlorinated and other halogenated solvents, fluoride, nitrate, and naturally occurring radioactive contaminants. The GURU-BRAHMA filter for purifying drinking water maintains concentrations of beneficial phyto-chemicals including, but not limited to flavonoids, phytosterols, tannins, polysaccharides, saponins, polyacetylenes, that provide many health benefits including natural cleansing of the blood and the liver and protection against the accumulation of bacteria, fungus, and viruses. Water processed through the GURU-BRAHMA filter for purifying drinking water meets United States, European Union and World Health Organization standards for safe drinking water.

  • Patent number: 9758732
Abstract: The removal of poisonous metalloids from crude oil is a method of removing naturally occurring arsenic (As), antimony (Sb), and bismuth (Bi) from crude oil before the crude oil is processed through a refinery. The removal of poisonous metalloids from crude oil entails forming an emulsion comprising the crude oil and an inorganic salt or mineral acid solution prepared by recirculation and agitation. The agitation of the emulsion causes arsenic (As), antimony (Sb), and bismuth (Bi) containing compounds to dissolve in the inorganic salt or mineral acid solution. The crude oil is separated from the inorganic salt or mineral acid solution by settling. The treated crude oil has a poisonous metalloid concentration of less than 1 ppm making it acceptable for oil refining operations. Optionally, any inorganic salt or mineral acid solution remaining in the crude oil after separation can be removed using a silica gel dryer.

  • Publication number: 20020143226
Abstract: A treatment protocol is provided for the in-situ remediation of Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons and other contaminants such as DNAPL compounds and PCB's present both in soil and in groundwater. The approach uses a modified Fenton's chemistry to treat the materials, the treatment reagents being introduced through a hollow stem auger into the contaminated soil or groundwater region. The process also provides for a pre-treatment of solid and semi-solid coal tar residues by using a polar solvent pretreatment step prior to the chemical and mechanical treatment.
