  • Patent number: 11943180
Abstract: Draft message object collaboration in a group-based communication platform is described. A request to generate a message object can be received from a first client associated with a first entity of a group-based communication platform. A first instance of a composition user interface, configured to enable a draft of the message object to be generated, can be presented via the first client and a request to add a second entity as a collaborator can be received. A second instance of the composition user interface can be presented via a second client of the second entity. A modification to the draft of the message object can be received and, in response to receiving the modification, the message object can be updated as presented via respective instances of the composition user interface.

  • Patent number: 11748093
Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for authenticating a user. An example computer-implemented method includes verifying compliance with one or more security procedures for a given group-based communication browser session based on a comparison of a boot data object and an authentication data. The boot data object includes a set of standardized parameters of a booting operation and the authentication data includes a set of core information enabling access to the given group-based communication browser session. The computer-implemented method also includes receiving group-based communication data specific to the group-based communication browser session from the group-based communication system. The computer-implemented method further includes displaying at least a portion of the group-based communication data specific to the group-based communication browser session. Corresponding apparatuses and computer program products are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11620173
Abstract: Media, methods, and systems are disclosed for optimizing performance of a running application in connection with a group-based communication system. Log data is collected regarding prior metrics for applications that have encountered performance events. Application state information is monitored and a machine-learning model mapping application metrics to performance outcomes predicts whether the running application will encounter a performance event. The machine-learning model mapping application metrics to performance outcomes is trained based on the collected logs. Based on whether a degradation outcome will be impactful, an application performance parameter may be degraded.

  • Patent number: 11553015
Abstract: Media, methods, and systems are disclosed for progressively instantiating workspaces for a group-based communication system. A request is received to load group-based communication system workspaces and begin receiving real-time events. The workspaces are classified into a plurality of priority and dormant workspaces. The priority workspaces are instantiated, and real-time events associated with the priority workspaces are transmitted to a group-based communication system. Real-time events are detected that trigger instantiation of dormant workspaces, and associated dormant workspaces added to the set of priority workspaces.

  • Patent number: 11500625
Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for initiating a group-based communication browser session. An example computer-implemented method includes generating a group-based communication browser session initiation request via a processor of the apparatus. The computer-implemented method also includes loading a boot data object. The boot data object includes one or more predefined parameters of a booting operation stored locally on the client device and the boot data object is applicable to a plurality of executable software applications. The computer-implemented method further includes downloading at least one asset data and application data based on a specific application of the plurality of executable software applications from a group-based communication system. The at least one of the asset data and the application data is configured for generation of at least a portion of a display associated with the group-based communication browser session.

  • Patent number: 11494177
Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for background loading data. The computer-implemented method includes executing a group-based communication browser session module stored in at least one memory. The computer-implemented method also includes causing a service worker to request an update for the group-based communication browser session module during execution of the group-based communication browser session module. The computer-implemented method further includes receiving the update for the group-based communication browser session during the operation of the group-based communication browser session. The computer-implemented method still further includes caching the update via the service worker. The computer-implemented method also includes restarting the group-based communication browser session module after caching the update.

  • Patent number: 11494178
Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for background updating an application. An example computer-implemented method includes activating a group-based communication browser session within a first display window of an apparatus. The computer-implemented method also includes transmitting an update request for the group-based communication browser session to a group-based communication system upon determining that a window focus of the apparatus is on a second display window. The computer-implemented method further includes receiving an update for the group-based communication browser session. The computer-implemented method still further includes caching the update for the group-based communication browser session via a memory of the apparatus. The computer-implemented method also includes refreshing the group-based communication browser session based at least in part on the update upon determining that the window focus of the apparatus changes to the first display window.

  • Publication number: 20220351142
Abstract: Techniques for identifying actual communications and data flow between users of an organization exchanged via a communication platform and providing a recommended action for a user to perform based on the actual communications are described herein. The communication platform receives messages exchanged between users of the organization and generates an interaction graph representative of actual interactions (e.g., communications, data flow, etc.) between the users. The interaction graph can be based on a frequency of messages, message content (e.g., message data, attached documents, links, applications, etc.), context data (e.g., personal, business, collaborative (e.g., associated with a project, etc.), etc.), user data associated with the users (e.g., position, title, team identifiers, etc.).
