  • Patent number: 11968642
Abstract: A wireless communication network delivers status information for User Equipment (UE) upon request. A network controller exchanges registration signaling with the UE and exchanges authentication signaling for the UE with a Unified Data Management (UDM). The UDM exchanges the authentication signaling with the network controller and responsively transfers a UDM request for the UE status information to the network controller. The network controller determines the UE status information and transfers the UE status information to the UDM in response to the UDM request. The UDM receive the UE status information from the network controller and transfers the UE status information to a Unified Data Repository (UDR). The UDR receives the UE status information from the UDM and receives a status request for the UE from a network element. The UDR responsively transfers the UE status information for the UE to the network element.

  • Patent number: 11963126
Abstract: A wireless communication network deregisters network functions. In the wireless communication, a network data system receives a deregistration command that indicates a wireless User Equipment (UE) and forwards the deregistration command to a Unified Data Management (UDM). The UDM receives the indication and determines a Data Network Name (DNN) for the wireless UE. The UDM identifies a network controller and a session controller for the wireless UE based on the DNN. The UDM transfers deregistration notifications to the network controller and session controller. The UDM receives a deregistration acknowledgement from the network controller. The UDM directs the network data system to remove stored session data for the session controller. The network data system receives the direction from the UDM and responsively removes stored session data for the session controller.

  • Patent number: 11910205
Abstract: A wireless communication network receives a current message that relates to a user device for delivery to a network function. The network writes the current message to a queue. The network determines if the queue stores one or more prior messages that relate to the user device. The network transfers the current message from the queue for delivery to the network function when the queue does not store the one or more prior messages for the user device. When the queue for the user device does store the one or more prior messages for the user device, the network prioritizes the current message and the one or more prior messages by network function type and transfers the current message and the one or more prior messages that relate to the user device from the queue for delivery to the network function based on the prioritization.

  • Patent number: 11864099
Abstract: A wireless communication system comprises Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) that use Uniform Data Repositories (UDRs) to serve wireless User Equipment (UEs) over wireless network slices. A serving PLMN determines a UE Identifier (ID) for a wireless UE and a slice ID for a wireless network slice. The serving PLMN indicates the UE ID and the slice ID to a Service Communication Proxy (SCP) in the serving PLMN. The SCP selects a UDR in a different PLMN based on the UE ID and the slice ID. The SCP indicates the UE ID and the slice ID to the selected UDR in the different PLMN. The selected UDR in the different PLMN transfers UE information for the UE for delivery to the network element in the serving PLMN. The network element in the serving PLMN controls the wireless network slice for the wireless UE based on the UE information.

  • Publication number: 20230388805
Abstract: Methods and systems for reporting a provisioning transaction in a wireless communication network are disclosed. According to an implementation, a lawful interception management system (LIMS) of the wireless communication network may receive, from a law enforcement agency (LEA), a request to track activities of a subscriber of services provided through the communication network. The request may be submitted through a third-party server located in a public network. LIMS may transmit the request to a communication service provider (CSP). Upon receiving the request, CSP may forward the request to one or more servers via dedicated interfaces respectively assigned. The one or more servers may be configured to intercept the provisioning transactions that occurred on different radio access networks, e.g., 2G/3G, 4G/LTE, or 5G. Once the provisioning transaction is intercepted, LIMS may be immediately notified via the dedicated interfaces. Information related to the provisioning transactions is reported to LEA.

  • Patent number: 11832155
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for consistent policy enforcement across networks. A subscription is provisioned at a first network with an initial service policy. The first network queries a second network for updated service policy information. In response to the query, updated service policy information for the subscription is received. The updated service policy information is determined by the second network based on a selection criteria attribute for the subscription satisfying selection criteria. The selection criteria attribute is unavailable at the first network. Service is provided to a device associated with the subscription in accordance with the updated service policy information.

Abstract: A wireless communication network serves a User Equipment (UE) with a Network Exposure Function (NEF) and multiple Unified Data Elements (UDEs) like Unified Data Managements (UDMs) and Unified Data Repositories (UDRs) The NEF receives initial network data and transfers a UDE query to a Network Repository Function (NRF). The NRF selects a Unified Data Proxy (UDP) and indicates the UDP to the NEF. The NEF receives the UDP indication and responsively transfers the initial network data to the UDP. The UDP receives the initial network data, and in response, selects one of the UDEs. The UDP transfers the initial network data to the selected one of the UDEs. The selected one of the UDEs receives the initial network data, and in response, generates and transfers new network data. In some examples, the UDEs comprise UDMs/UDRs that reside in different Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) from one another and from the NEF.

  • Patent number: 11778531
Abstract: A wireless communication network handsover a wireless User Equipment (UE) to a target communication network. A wireless access node wirelessly exchanges user data with the wireless UE and exchanges the user data with a User Plane Function (UPF). The UPF exchanges the user data with the wireless access node. An Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) identifies a handover of the wireless UE from the wireless access node to the target communication network, and in response, identifies a Gateway Identifier (GW ID) for a data GW that is physically co-located with the UPF and transfers handover signaling indicating the GW ID to the target communication network. The target communication network exchanges additional user data with the wireless UE over the data GW in response to the GW ID in the handover signaling—possibly without using a Domain Name System (DNS) to determine the GW ID.
