  • Publication number: 20220329584
Abstract: Two-way secure channels are provided between multiple services across service groups, where the certification is performed by a certificate authority associated with one of the service groups. One method comprises a first service providing a first handshake communication with a first token to a second service, wherein the first service obtains the first token by authenticating with an identity and access management service having a first certificate signed by a certificate authority, wherein the first handshake communication succeeds when the second service has a second certificate signed by the certificate authority, and wherein the second service obtains a second token by authenticating with the identity and access management service. The first service receives a second handshake communication from the second service with the second token.

  • Patent number: 11469880
Abstract: A subset of data encryption keys are stored in plain text form in system memory of an information handling system. A master key and another subset of the data encryption keys are stored in a credential vault of the information handling system. The credential vault forms part of an out-of-band management platform and is protected by an AES key. A request is received for a data encryption key to decrypt a unit of data backed up to backup storage of the information handling system, the unit of data having been encrypted by the data encryption key, and the data encryption key having been encrypted by the master key and stored at the backup storage as an encrypted data encryption key. One or more locations are checked for the data encryption key. The one or more locations include the system memory, credential vault, and backup storage.

  • Patent number: 11416446
Abstract: Support is provided for remote monitoring and management of non-standard devices of an IHS (Information Handling System) that are not supported by a remote management interface, such as the Redfish management interface. The IHS may be configured for remote management of a non-standard device as part of the manufacture of the IHS. Software for management of the non-standard device is validated against a checksum stored to the IHS during its manufacture to confirm the software for managing the non-standard device has not been altered. If the software is validated, the software is used to initialize a plugin for management of the non-standard device. Data collected by the plugin from monitoring of the non-standard device is provided to a remote access controller of the IHS and the remote access controller issues commands to the non-standard device via the plugin.

  • Patent number: 11416158
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer media are described for memory-efficient unarchiving. Data items can be archived and removed from primary data store over time. An archive block containing both a data item of interest and additional data items can be located. The data item of interest, as well as the additional data, can be loaded into a secondary data store. The data item of interest can then be extracted from the secondary data store and reloaded into the primary data store. The secondary data store can then be cleared. Memory-efficient unarchiving more efficiently uses computing resources and unarchives only the data that is needed.

  • Patent number: 11341230
Abstract: Described is a system for maintaining dual-party authentication requirements for data retention compliance in systems with remote access components. When administering a data retention policy, an operating system component may require a dual-party authentication mechanism to prevent data deletion, while a different authentication mechanism may control access to the remote access controller. Access to the remote access controller by a single privileged user, however, may enable overriding or compromising the retention lock compliance implemented by the operating system. Accordingly, the system may tie the dual-party authentication requirement to the remote access controller authentication mechanism.

  • Patent number: 11334359
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for managing dynamic devices of an IHS (Information Handling System) that include re-programmable logic circuitry. The dynamic devices of the IHS are identified and the type of a dynamic device is determined based on operations implemented by the re-programmable logic circuitry of that dynamic device. The dynamic device is enrolled for management by a remote access controller of the IHS based on its determined type. Messages are registered for management of the dynamic device, where the messages are selected based on its determined type. Remote management of the dynamic device is initiated using the registered messages. Any programming that changes the type of the dynamic device of the dynamic device is detected. If a change is detected, the dynamic device is enrolled for remote management using updated messages based on its updated type.

  • Patent number: 11329900
Abstract: Determining an upgrade path from a starting topology to a target topology of a network is computationally intense and does not guarantee a steadily increasing usable capacity of the network at each stage within the upgrade path. The disclosed technology allows for a sequence of stages related to network upgrades to be generated. The technology ensures that networks can be upgraded in a sequential manner, where each step in the sequence does not violate service level objectives related to the network, ensures operational continuity of the network by users of the network, and ensures that the available network resources increase as the sequential upgrades are rolled out. The pathway determined is determined in a computationally efficient manner.
