    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe techniques for managing locks in just-in-time compiled code in a software application. An example method generally includes profiling locks by during execution of the JIT compiled code. Locks are generally profiled by identifying locks on resources accessed by the JIT compiled code, and recording access information for each of the identified locks. When a safepoint is reached during execution of the JIT compiled code, one or more locks eligible for conversion to a biased lock are identified .based on the recorded access information for each of the identified locks, one or more locks eligible for conversion to a biased lock. Each respective lock of the one or more eligible locks is converted to a biased lock based on a current lock status of the respective lock.

    Abstract: In embodiments, a linac electron beam excited X-ray source weighing less than 50 pounds, and having a volume less than 1 cubic foot, injects electrons from an RF-excited, diamond tip cathode into a dielectric accelerator tube of diameter less than 10 mm, where the electrons are RF-accelerated to 1-4 MeV. A focusing channel having a plurality of annular permanent magnets can surround the dielectric tube, and a vacuum can be maintained in the tube by a getter pump. The accelerating RF can be 10 GHz or higher. The X-ray source can be powered by a rechargeable battery for more than an hour. Embodiments can be transported within a case having a display attached to an interior surface of its lid. An X-ray head can be removed from the case and extended up to 10 feet while remaining interconnected with the case by a flexible conduit.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic mechanical pulser implements a transverse wave metallic comb stripline TWMCS kicker having inwardly opposing teeth that retards a phase velocity of an RF traveling wave to match the kinetic velocity of a continuous electron beam, causing the beam to oscillate before being chopped into pulses by an aperture. The RF phase velocity is substantially independent of RF frequency and amplitude, thereby enabling independent tuning of the electron pulse widths and repetition rate. The TWMCS further comprises an electron pulse picker (EPP) that applies a pulsed transverse electric field across the TWMCS to deflect electrons out of the beam, allowing only selected electrons and/or groups of electrons to pass through. The EPP pulses can be synchronized with the RF traveling wave and/or with a pumping trigger of a transverse electron microscope (TEM), for example to obtain dynamic TEM images in real time.

The method, for each cell in at least one cell of a multi-cell battery, includes: after the multi-cell battery enters a charging stable state, acquiring actual charging electric quantity required for charging the cell to a target voltage; determining a balance time duration for the cell based on the actual charging electric quantity corresponding to the cell, wherein the balance time duration is a time duration required for a cell balance control circuit matched with the cell to control the cell; and controlling the cell balance control circuit matched with the cell to perform electric quantity adjustment on the cell within the balance time duration. The technical problem of low accuracy of balance control on each cell in the multi-cell battery in the related art is solved.

A base of the first moiety is A, T, U, C, or G, a base of the second moiety is a random base and/or a universal base, and 3 bases or more are present in the second moiety. The first moiety and the second moiety are ligated via the linker, the connection between the first moiety and the ligation can be cleaved, and the detectable label is ligated to the second moiety or the linker. The above probe, a combination formed therewith, or a sequencing method using the same can reduce the number or types of probes in nucleic acid sequencing, thereby reducing cost.

    Abstract: An aerothermal-radiation correction method, including: using a Gaussian surface to approximate a thermal radiation noise, performing a Fourier transform on the Gaussian surface so as to obtain a centralized spectrum of the thermal radiation noise, constructing a filter function H based on the centralized spectrum of the thermal radiation noise; performing a Fourier transform on the aerothermal-radiation degraded image f so as to obtain a centralized spectrum F, taking dot product of F and H to obtain a filtered spectrum G; and performing an inverse Fourier transform on filtered spectrum G to obtain a modulus, and acquire a corrected image. The method effectively removes background noise generated by aerothermal radiation, greatly improves image quality and image signal-to-noise ratio. The method features reduced computational complexity and a shorter operation time, and is suited for real-time processing.
