Abstract: Generally, the present disclosure is directed to anonymizing patient data in a multi-modality medical processing system. The method and system described herein automatically remove information from medical data that could identify the patient from which it was acquired, so as to protect the privacy of the patient. Specifically, the anonymizing is performed without intervention from a human to limit errors and incomplete information deletion. Further, data sets in different medical modalities may be anonymized at the same time, and multiple patient cases corresponding to different patients may be anonymized at the same time to increase efficiency.

The method and system described herein present medical data in multiple different modalities on a single user interface screen, allowing a practitioner viewing the user interface to manage all acquired data sets associated with a patient regardless of modality. As such, the amount of time a practitioner must spend reviewing patient medical data is reduced, leading to more efficient diagnosis and treatment. Further, multiple patient cases corresponding to different patients may be presented on a single user interface screen to simplify multi-patient case management.

The method and system described herein selectively archive medical data at a patient case level, at modality data set level, and/or at an individual image level, so as to allow a practitioner to have a fine level of control over the specific data archived. Further, data sets in different medical modalities may be archived at the same time, and patient cases corresponding to different patients may be archived at the same time to increase archival efficiency.
