  • Publication number: 20240003575
Abstract: Methods and systems for operating a Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system in accordance with one of a plurality of operating modes. The plurality of operating modes include one or more of a health mode, an energy savings mode and a balanced mode. In some cases, the operating modes include two or more energy saving modes. The currently operating mode is selected based on the current operating conditions of the building and the desired goals of the building operator. The goals can include, for example, reducing energy usage, reducing pathogen risks, increasing air quality and/or a combination of these goals. In some cases, the operating modes are autonomously controlled. In some cases, the operating modes are manually controlled.

  • Patent number: 11181286
Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods, systems, and devices for detecting an operational mode of a building component of an environmental control system. In some instances, the apparatus may include a sensor for outputting a signal related to a measure of power drawn by the building component. The sensor may be a current sensor associated with a power cord of an air conditioning unit. The signal output by the sensor may be received by a signal conditioning circuit for conditioning the signal received from the sensor such as, for example, by amplifying and/or filtering. A comparator may be configured to compare the conditioned signal to a specified threshold associated with an ON condition and/or an OFF condition of the building component. The apparatus may include a wireless interface configured to wirelessly transmit a determination of whether the building component is ON or OFF based on the result determined by the comparator.

  • Patent number: 10667320
Abstract: A building control device comprising a wireless interface and a controller configured to monitor when the wireless interface becomes disconnected from the network. When the wireless interface becomes disconnected from the network, the controller may attempt to reconnect the wireless interface to the network and if successful, return to monitoring for when the wireless interface becomes disconnected from the network. If not successful, the controller may switch the wireless interface into a configuration mode to establish a direct wireless connection with a remote device, receive updated network credentials from the remote device while in the configuration mode, exit the configuration mode, and connect the wireless interface to the network or another network using the updated network credentials.
