  • Patent number: 12343526
Abstract: A method is provided for stimulating a sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) of a patient, the method including inserting a tube and an electrode mount into a nasal cavity of the patient and advancing the tube along a floor of the nasal cavity to near a posterior end of an inferior turbinate. One or more electrodes of the electrode mount are deployed superiorly away from the tube while the tube is disposed along the floor of the nasal cavity and the electrode mount is disposed within the nasal cavity, so as to bring at least one of the one or more electrodes into contact with a wall of the nasal cavity. A current configured to stimulate the SPG via the wall is applied to the one or more electrodes. Other embodiments are also described.

  • Publication number: 20240033512
Abstract: An external neurostimulator includes a housing including a base housing and a top housing, a power source, a pulse generator, and a first and second series of spring-loaded pins electrically coupled to the pulse generator. The top housing includes a central portion, a first side door hingedly coupled to a first side of the central portion, and a second side door hingedly coupled to a second side of the central portion. Each of the first side door and the second side door include a channel formed thereon that is configured to directly receive a proximal end portion of an implantable lead. Each channel includes a series of longitudinally spaced-apart openings formed on the first side door and the second side door, respectively. The first and second series of spring-loaded pins extend through the series of longitudinally spaced-apart openings of the channel on the first and second side doors, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20190143103
Abstract: A medical device for conducting electrical signal comprises an elongate member and a plurality of cables. Each cable may have three concentric layers: a first layer with an inner conductor, a second layer with an inner insulator, and a third layer with an outer conductor. The inner insulator electrically isolates the outer conductor from the inner conductor.

  • Patent number: 8573062
Abstract: The disclosure relates in some aspects to an implantable pressure sensor and a method of measuring pressure. In some embodiments pressure may be measured through the use of an implantable lead incorporating one or more pressure sensors. In some aspects a pressure sensor is implemented in a micro-electromechanical system (“MEMS”) that employs direct mechanical sensing. A biocompatible material is attached to one or more portions of the MEMS sensor to facilitate implant in a body of a patient. The MEMS sensor may thus be incorporated into an implantable lead for measuring blood pressure in, for example, one or more chambers of the patient's heart.
