  • Patent number: 12290301
Abstract: A method is provided for treating chronic piriformis muscle inflammation, commonly referred to as piriformis syndrome. The method includes percutaneous advancing an electrocautery probe through an incision at the back of the buttock, and navigating the probe under medical imaging toward a proximal end of a femur bone adjacent the greater trochanter. The probe is activated to cut the piriformis muscle or piriformis muscle insertion tendon at or adjacent the greater trochanter of the proximal femur to free the muscle and permanently alleviate muscle pain and tenderness.

  • Patent number: 12239362
Abstract: A method of performing a rhizotomy includes directing a surgical probe through an incision in the body of a patient, navigating a distal tip of the probe to a location adjacent a target nerve, energizing the probe to deliver energy to the target nerve, and wanding the distal tip of the probe in a plurality of directions to direct the energy at the target nerve to interrupt signal transmission by the target nerve.

  • Publication number: 20240415566
Abstract: A cautery probe is provided for performing a rhizotomy through an incision in the body of a patient. The probe includes a rigid shaft that can be inserted through an incision, and a distal cutting tip that can be energized and wanded across a target nerve. In embodiments, the probe also includes connectors for attaching a syringe, drawing medication into the syringe, and dispensing medication from the syringe through the probe and adjacent the cutting tip.
