Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for creating a user interface for database-driven web sites or software applications in which the layout of elements can accommodate and respond to expansion and contraction in a fluid-like or content-flow manner at run-time, but is also constrained by fixed or grid-like sizes, positions, and properties that are specified at design-time. This aspect of controlling the layout of controls via a hybrid of fixed as well as fluid properties, all of which an be visually or programmatically specified at design-time as well as at run-time, provides significant advantages over previous web site and software application design tools and techniques.

Abstract: A system and method to create web sites and web applications that address the significant limitation of unnecessary and artificial page refreshes, which are inherent in most current web solutions, by moving away from the paradigm where a user navigates from one page to another. Rather, they are based on an architecture that morphs the user interface from one state to another, thereby performing more like desktop applications. This system and method are based on a topological map that exhibits self-similar or fractal characteristics, consisting of a hierarchy of heterogeneous nodes where each parent node is an identical construct that comprises repeatable bands.

Abstract: A system and method are provided to enable developers of web sites and software applications to code in an object-oriented high-level language that is compiled into a browser-side JavaScript which can be natively interpreted by a browser. This enables developers to program in a high-level language of choice to create browser-side web applications, instead of directly using the target lower-level language JavaScript.
