  • Patent number: 7334665
Abstract: The systems and methods of present invention invoke an elevator communication system for providing communication between a plurality of hall fixture devices and at least one elevator system controller. The elevator communication system includes at least one elevator door interlock wiring circuit, which has a first and a second portion. A first transceiver device is coupled to the first portion of the door interlock wiring for transmitting and receiving signals between the at least one elevator system controller and the plurality of hall fixture devices over the interlock wiring. A second transceiver device is coupled to the second portion of the door interlock wiring for transmitting and receiving the signals between the at least one elevator system controller and the plurality of hall fixture devices over the interlock wiring.

  • Patent number: 6830355
Abstract: An elevator cab lighting assembly comprising a refractive sheet mounted on the interior of the elevator cab. A light source is mounted at and conducts light into an outer edge of the refractive sheet. The light received at the outer edge of the travels along the refractive sheet and passes out of the planar surface and inner edge of the sheet exposed within the interior of the cab. The refractive sheet may be randomly sanded or sandblasted to provide diffuse light. The sheet may be etched or routed in standard or custom designs to provide accent highlighting. The lighting assembly is housed within a transom assembly that may be accessed from the exterior of the cab.

  • Publication number: 20040231930
Abstract: A multiple function cross-head for an elevator is horizontally disposed at the upper ends of two vertical stiles that form an elevator car frame. The cross-head supports a door header, door hanger assembly, door operator assembly, and a cross-beam. The cross-beam supports a sheave assembly which engages a rope in an elevator system to raise and lower the elevator car in a shaftway.

  • Publication number: 20040154870
Abstract: A mechanical system and method for constructing a self-supporting, elevator support structure and a traction (rope-operated) elevator system comprising such a support structure. A rail-climbing platform is used to progressively erect higher levels of modular rail sections and other components of the system without the need for external props such as a scaffold.

  • Publication number: 20040026676
Abstract: The invention provides modular drive and deflector sheave assemblies for raising and lowering elevator cars and for deflecting a support rope or cable in different directions with minimal wear. The drive sheave assemblies of the invention provide sufficient traction between a support rope, e.g., nylon-jacketed Kevlar suspension rope, and sheave to raise and lower elevator cars without requiring more than 180° of contact between the rope and drive sheave. Such a drive sheave assembly can advantageously have a non-rope-pinching groove, thereby minimizing wear on the rope and vibration during operation.
