  • Patent number: 11857817
Abstract: A fire suppression nozzle includes a first conduit including an inlet and an outlet, a second conduit coupled to the first and including a plurality of outlets spaced apart from a second plurality of outlets. The nozzle includes a first annular sound absorbing member positioned on a first side of the outlet and a second annular sound absorbing member positioned on a second side of the outlet wherein the first conduit provides inert gas to the second conduit. The inert gas exits the outlet in a first direction and a first portion of the inert gas is directed toward the first plurality of outlets in a second direction and a second portion is directed toward the second plurality of outlets in a third direction opposite the second direction, wherein the second and third directions are generally perpendicular to the first direction.

  • Publication number: 20230181954
Abstract: A sprinkler system includes a sprinkler and a release assembly. The sprinkler includes a base defining an inlet and an outlet, at least one arm extending from the base, a deflector coupled with the at least one arm, a button that seals the outlet, and a bulb coupled with the button between the button and the deflector. The bulb includes a resistive trace made of an electrically conductive material to fracture the bulb responsive to an electrical current to release the button from the outlet. The release assembly is coupled with the sprinkler and provides the electrical current to the bulb to cause the bulb to fracture responsive to a fire condition.

  • Patent number: 11642559
Abstract: A corrosion monitoring device includes a sensor assembly and a detector circuit. The sensor assembly includes at least one sensor portion disposed in an interior of a pipe in a fire sprinkler system for sensing corrosion of a wall of the pipe. The detector circuit transmits an electrical signal through the at least one sensor portion, monitors an electrical characteristic of the at least one sensor portion based on the electrical signal, compares at least one of the monitored electrical characteristic and a change in the electrical characteristic of the at least one sensor portion to at least one of a predetermined value and a previously monitored electrical characteristic, determines a corrosion status indicative of at least one of a corrosion level and a rate of corrosion of the pipe wall based on the comparison, and outputs an indication of the corrosion status.

  • Patent number: 11612773
Abstract: A fire suppression nozzle assembly includes a nozzle having a first tube defining an axially extending passageway. The passageway includes a plurality of primary outlets disposed on a sidewall of the first tube. The nozzle also includes a second tube circumscribing the first tube to define a chamber. The primary outlets provide fluid communication between the passageway and the chamber. A sidewall of the second tube has a first set of radially facing secondary outlets axially offset from the primary outlets in a first direction and a second set of radially facing secondary outlets axially offset from the primary outlets in a second direction opposite the first direction. The nozzles disclosed herein are configured such that gas exiting a plurality of outlet holes is balanced.

  • Publication number: 20220299397
Abstract: A system includes a controller for monitoring a fill level of a container. The controller is configured to receive first vibrational response data relating to a vibrational response of the container in a first state, receive second vibrational response data relating to a vibrational response of the container in a second state, and use the first vibrational response data and the second vibrational response data to identify a change in fill level of the container between the first state and the second state.
