  • Patent number: 9157897
Abstract: An ultrasound transmitter including intrinsic output zeroing is disclosed herein. A transmitter for generating ultrasound signals includes a first transmitter output driver and a first transmitter input driver. The first transmitter output driver includes an N-type device serially coupled to a P-type device. The first transmitter input driver includes an N-type device serially coupled to a P-type device. An output of the first transmitter input driver is coupled to an input of the first transmitter output driver. The first transmitter output driver drives an output of the transmitter to a first voltage and the first transmitter input driver drives the output of the transmitter to a second voltage while the first transmitter output driver is disabled.

  • Publication number: 20150169814
Abstract: A method of harmonic distortion (HD) macro-model error correction uses a HD simulation macro-model for an electronic device and memory table storing an operating condition/variable that affects HD and HD coefficient value(s). A processor runs the macro-model using information in the memory table for generating HD simulation values. The memory table is initially filled with a first condition/variable and initial HD coefficient. The processor runs the simulation macro-model for generating an initial HD simulation value. An initial Datasheet to initial HD simulation error (D-S error) is determined. Provided the magnitude of D-S error is above a predetermined error bound (PEB), an updated HD coefficient is used for repeating the filling, generating an updated HD simulation value and determining D-S error to obtain a corrected HD coefficient(s) which reduces the D-S error<PEB. The corrected HD coefficient(s) is stored in the memory table to update the simulation macro-model.

  • Publication number: 20150169815
Abstract: A method of harmonic distortion (HD) versus load modeling. A macro-model circuit is provided including a sub-circuit block(s) modeling an electronic device and an HD generation block in a signal path of the macro-model circuit that includes an HD equation relating a load current parameter responsive to an input voltage (Vin(t)). Responsive to receiving Vin(t) at an input of the macro-model circuit under a set of operating conditions including the output of the macro-model circuit loaded with an output impedance (Z), a simulated load current (iL) is generated. iL or another load current from iL (iL?) is fed back to the HD generation block to provide its load current parameter. The load current parameter is inputted into the HD equation for the HD equation to become a substituted equation. At least one simulated HD value under loading by Z for the electronic device is generated from the substituted equation.

  • Patent number: 8721550
Abstract: A system and method for providing a high voltage ultrasonic drive signal from an ultrasound transmitter are disclosed herein. An ultrasound transmitter includes a first driver and a bias network. The first driver includes a first plurality of drive transistors that when activated drive an ultrasound transmitter output to a first voltage. The first bias network is coupled to the first plurality of drive transistors, and, at least in part, controls distribution, across the drive transistors, of voltage at the ultrasound transmitter output. Control inputs of the first driver are decoupled from the ultrasound transmitter output.

  • Patent number: 6529237
Abstract: A correlated double sampled/programmable gain amplifier (CDS/PGA) is disclosed which is operable to precondition a CCD output analog signal. The CDS/PGA includes an operational amplifier that is configured in a sample hold operation. The single-ended input is first clamped by a switch (34) to clamp the DC level therein for a given pixel. A switch (38) then samples the reset level onto a sampling capacitor (46), and a switch (42) thereafter samples the video signal onto one plate of a capacitor (50). The lower plates of the capacitors (46) and (50) are then equalized and the other plates thereof connected to the positive and negative inputs of the operational amplifier (68). An offset is provided by a programmable DAC (26) to account for the dark current offset. The output scale is adjusted or mapped by limiting the output between a negative and a positive reference input. The sampling capacitors (46) and (50) can be varied to vary the gain of the amplifier.
