  • Patent number: 10523321
Abstract: Multi-functional units incorporating lighting capabilities in converged networks, and related networks and methods are disclosed. The multi-functional units are configured to be included at end points in a wireless communications network to serve as distribution points for distribution of communications services. Each multi-functional unit includes a plurality of wireless communications circuits in a single unit or housing to support multiple communications services. Thus, a single multi-functional unit can be installed in a location to support the multiple communications services to minimize installation footprint. To further conserve installation footprint, the wireless communications network can be provided as a converged network that includes a single communications backbone to converge multiple networks for the multiple communications services supported by the multi-functional units.

  • Patent number: 10517004
Abstract: Application modules (AMs) with multi-carrier subscriber identity modules (MSIMs) for diagnostic mode monitoring of signals within wireless distributed communications systems (WDCSs), including but not limited to distributed antenna systems (DASs). Related systems and methods are also disclosed. The MSIMs comprise circuitry configured to implement multiple SIM instances, each SIM instance containing carrier-specific data to enable the AM to register with a carrier to perform diagnostic mode monitoring of signals from the respective carrier. In one embodiment, AMs may be associated with components of a WDCS. By associating the AMs into components of a WDCS, live signals in the WDCS can be monitored and measured for monitoring the performance of components within the WDCS. The AMs may include one or more application level applications configured to receive and monitor signals in the WDCS, and to provide application-level information about such monitored signals to other components or systems, or technicians.

  • Patent number: 10187127
Abstract: Distributed communications systems (DCSs) supporting automated analysis of MIMO communications stream distribution to remote units in a distributed communication system (DCS) to support configuration of interleaved MIMO communications services are disclosed. In this regard, MIMO analysis circuits can be employed to determine the actual routing of MIMO communications signals and locations of the remote units to automatedly determine any MIMO cell bonding between the remote units to determine the configured interleaved MIMO configuration in effect in the DCS. The determined interleaved MIMO configuration of the DCS infrastructure is used to determine other possible interleaved MIMO configurations and their associated performance, along with the associated configurations and changes needed to realize such possible interleaved MIMO configurations.
