  • Patent number: 5871408
Abstract: A method for fusing a ball-striking plate with a golf club head case comprises a first step in which a metal head case is prepared such that the metal head case is provided with a recess having a shoulder. A metal ball-striking plate is also prepared such that the ball-striking plate is corresponding in size and shape to the recess of the head case. A welding material is arranged on the shoulder of the recess of the head case before the ball-striking plate is arranged in the recess of the head case. The head case containing the ball-striking plate is then baked in an oven at a temperature higher than the melting point of the welding material, thereby resulting in the fusion of the ball-striking plate with the head case by the molten welding material.

  • Patent number: 5683310
Abstract: A golf club head comprises a neck, a heel, a face, a toe, a top and a sole. The neck, the heel and the face are made integrally of a light alloy while the top, the toe and the sole are made of a metal, which is heavier than the light alloy, so as to surround the periphery of the face. The sole is provided on the rear edge thereof with a projection so as to form an empty back. The face is provided with an inclined side slanting from a surface thereof toward the back. The top, the toe and the sole form a heavy metal circular frame surrounding the face made of the light alloy.

  • Patent number: 5494281
Abstract: A golf club head comprises a shock-absorbing casing of a magnesium alloy and an elastic plate of an aluminium alloy, a titanium alloy, or a ceramic material. The casing has a shape similar to that of a golf club head and further has a hollow interior corresponding in location to and in communication with a ball striking face of the golf club head. The elastic plate is fastened securely to an open end of the hollow casing such that the elastic plate forms the ball-striking face of the golf club head.

  • Patent number: 5467983
Abstract: A golf wooden club head comprises a casing, a bottom plate, a base plate, a support layer and a ball-striking plate. The hollow casing is provided with an opening and a shoulder which is provided with a ring-shaped shoulder surface coplanar with one surface of the shoulder and facing outwards. The shoulder is further provided with a rib having a surface which is facing outwards and coplanar with the shoulder surface. A receiving space is formed between the shoulder surface and the front surface open end. The bottom opening is sealed off with the bottom plate. The base plate is disposed in the shoulder surface for separating the receiving space from interior space of the casing. The support layer is disposed in the receiving space such that the support layer is formed integrally with the ball-striking plate.

  • Patent number: 5288070
Abstract: A golf club head of composite material comprises an outer shell, an inner shell, a base plate, and a front wall. The outer shell of a metal material is provided with a receiving space and a neck having therein a shaft hole in communication with the receiving space. The inner shell of a fiber-reinforced resin material is adhered to the inner wall of the receiving space of the outer shell and is provided with a cell facing the open end of the outer shell and with an annular shoulder adjacent to the open end of the outer shell. The base plate is arranged on the annular shoulder of the inner shell so as to seal off the cell of the inner shell and to form a shaping slot located between the base plate and the open end of the outer shell. The front wall of a fiber-reinforced resin material is embedded in the shaping slot to form a ball-striking face of the golf club head.

  • Patent number: 5198062
Abstract: A method of making a golf club head includes a step of making a slot located at a ball-striking face of a metal head body. The slot is filled with a fiber bulk molding compound preimpregnated in an epoxy resin and is then covered with a prefabricated ball-striking plate. Such head body is placed in a mold cavity of a molding tool, which is subsequently subjected to a treatment under heat and pressure for a predetermined period of time. Upon the completion of the curing of the epoxy resin of the head body, the molding tool is opened to have the club head removed therefrom.
