  • Publication number: 20210160704
Abstract: Systems and methods for radio beam management for a wireless network are described. An illustrative system includes a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to determine that a user equipment (UE) device is located at a geographic location, determine a prioritization of beams associated with the geographic location, and direct the UE device to apply the prioritization of beams associated with the geographic location for beam scanning at the geographic location. The prioritization of beams may be generated based on historical beam signal strengths at the geographic location. In certain examples, an analytics engine applies a machine learning algorithm to generate the prioritization of beams based on inputs that include historical beam signal strengths reported by UE devices at the geographic location.

  • Patent number: 11019528
Abstract: Systems and methods enable a wireless station in a radio access network to apply slice-based admission control. A wireless station receives, from a core network, network slice data for each network slice available via the wireless station, wherein the network slice data includes a slice identifier and corresponding slice status for each network slice; and receives, from a user equipment (UE) device, a service request that indicates a network slice identifier previously assigned to the UE device. The wireless station applies, based on the network slice data from the core network and the network slice identifier from the UE device, admission controls to forward the service request to the core network when the one of the network slices, corresponding to the network slice identifier, is not congested, and delay or redirect the service request when the one of the network slices, corresponding to the network slice identifier, is congested.

  • Publication number: 20210153100
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the discovery and connection of Mesh Distributed Units (“MDUs”), which may establish a mesh topology and perform wireless backhaul of data between a core network and a User Equipment (“UE”). Multiple MDUs in an MDU network may be connected to establish an MDU route. One or more connected MDUs may broadcast an indication that the MDU is available to connect, one or more performance metrics, or an MDU performance score based on performance metrics. This broadcast may iteratively repeat in order to refine the mesh network topology in an ongoing process.

  • Publication number: 20210105191
Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a network allocation service is provided. The network allocation service may use available network resource information of an application service layer network of a first type, such as a multi-access edge computing network, and application service demand information of an application to determine whether a performance metric of the application service would be satisfied. The performance metric may include a threshold service time that includes a processing time associated with a processing of an application service request and response, by the application service layer network, and a transit time associated the application service response from the application service layer network to an end device. The network allocation service may select the first type or a second type of application service layer network depending on the outcome of the determination.

  • Publication number: 20210092646
Abstract: Systems and methods provide a latency certification service. One or more network devices in an application service layer network receive a service request for a latency certification service and instantiate a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) proxy for a data session between an application server device and a user equipment (UE) device. The one or more network devices obtain a digital certificate for the TCP proxy. The one or more network devices receive, at the TCP proxy, a data packet from the UE device; apply a certified timestamp to the data packet to form a certified timestamped data packet; and forward the certified timestamped data packet to the application server device.

The one or more second DUs may be pre-loaded with context information and/or traffic for the UE. In some embodiments, a third mesh DU (“MDU”) may be identified as a candidate for attachment to a first MDU that is attached to a second MDU. The third MDU may be pre-loaded with context information and/or traffic for the first MDU.
