Abstract: Automatically changing Access Point (AP) system configurations for Power over Ethernet (PoE) adaptation and Radio Frequency (RF) power improvement on band edge channels, particularly for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) may be provided. A PoE budget for an AP may be determined. Then, an evaluation of inputs associated with the AP may be performed. The evaluation may include determining an entity input from an entity associated with the AP, determining a client input from a client interfacing with the AP, and/or determining a device input from the AP. Next, a configuration of the AP may be determined based on the PoE budget and the entity input, the client input, and/or the device input. The operation of the AP may be altered based on the configuration.

  • Publication number: 20240056226
Abstract: A network of access points (AP) in a high-density environment may be provided. A number of packet transmission retries for one or more of the AP may be determined by setting a number, m, of retries for transmitting a data packet, where m is the upper limit of the number of retries. Data packets are then transmitted m times. Upon transmitting the data packet m times, a success probability SP(u,m) for transmission of the data packet, where u is the number of users, may be calculated. The transmission of the data packet may be repeated m?x times where x is an integer. Upon calculating the success probability for m?x times, a success probability SP(u,m?x) for transmission of the data packet may be calculated. If SP (u,m?x) is larger than SP(u,m) then x may be decreased by one and actions (b)-(f) may be repeated. If SP (u,m?x) is not larger than SP(u,m) then m?x may be set as the maximum number of retries for the data packet.

  • Patent number: 11902912
Abstract: Optimal determination of transmit power level for MLDs in A Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). An AP can establish synchronous downlink multi-link operations with another MLD. A first link and a second link between the AP and the MLD both operate in a same sub-band. The AP can then determine the same power level for both the first link and second link. After establishing the same power level, the AP can then determine a second power level for the first link and a third power level for the second link. The second power level is greater than the third power level. The AP can then provide the second power level for the first link and the third power level for the second link.

  • Publication number: 20240049133
Abstract: Network traffic interference detection and management may be provided. An infringement event by an infringing Access Point (AP) on a Restricted Target Wake Time (rTWT) transmission opportunity (TxOp) associated with a victim AP may be detected, and information associated with the infringement event may be added to an infringement list, wherein the information includes a MAC address associated with the infringing AP. A controller, may receive the infringement list and notify the infringement event to the infringing AP. The infringing AP may determine whether a transmission associated with the infringement event is low latency and high priority. When the transmission is not low latency and high priority the infringing AP may modify future transmissions based on the notification. When the transmission is low latency and high priority the infringing AP may notify the controller that the transmission is low latency and high priority.

  • Publication number: 20240023179
Abstract: An arrangement of three radios maybe provided. The three radios define first and second outer data links and a middle data link. Access to the arrangement of three radios can be biased to the middle data link in one direction upon a data transmission through the first and second outer data links being dominate in an opposite direction. Data transmission with enhanced multi-link single radio (eMLSR) client devices can be prioritized lower than data transmission with simultaneous transmit and receive radio (STR) client devices and non-simultaneous transmit and receive radio (NSTR) client devices. A radio can be configured for data transmission with a client device. The range of the radio is limited when the data traffic through the radio exceeds a determined number of bytes of data in a determined amount of time.

  • Patent number: 11818706
Abstract: Improved mesh performance using Overlapping Basic Service Set (OBSS) coloring and transmission scheduling may be provided. A controller may determine that a plurality of Access Points (APs) in a mesh network each have a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) that is in a predetermined range. Next, the controller may assign, in response to determining that the plurality of APs each have the RSSI that is in the predetermined range, OBSS colors to links between the plurality of APs to limit packet collision in the mesh network between the plurality of APs. The controller may then create a transmission schedule for transmissions between the plurality of APs in the mesh network based on the assigned OBSS colors.
